Chapter: 70

Today, Julia got a sitter for Emily, which turned out to be Nancy, and we're going baby shopping. I haven't really gotten anything but I guess we're half way now. None of my clothes fit anymore but dresses and skirts. I have to try on jeans today because I miss pants. I have gained another 5 pounds or so since Christmas but that's normal. I bought some stretchy black cropped pants which I have been living in so I have on a long green skirt with a white tee shit tired up. I put my hair up, do some light makeup and I look in the mirror. I can't help but smile when I see my bump. I didn't notice it before today and now I look pregnant. Everything else looks the same, maybe my boobs are slightly bigger but I'm just happy to be healthy. I turn off the light and I grab my purse after going to the bathroom again. I drive over to Julias and she comes right out. She wearing some jeans, a pale yellow tank top and a floral print scarf, which I know is Gucci.

'Hey honey' Julia says getting into the car.

'Hey mom, ready?' I ask her and she nods.

We drive to the baby store first and we look at cribs.

'Wow, Jo you look amazing' she says to me.

I smile 'Thanks, it really popped from the last time I saw you' I say rubbing my belly.

'I can't believe how fast the time is moving.' She says as we walk in the store.

'I know half way there' I say.

'I was thinking about redoing one of the guest rooms for the nursery' I tell Julia.

'Yeah, good idea, what colors were you thinking?' She asks me as we look at the cribs.

'Maybe yellow and white, maybe with some flowers' I say smiling.

'This one is nice' I say stopping front of a white wooden crib.

'Yeah it is. It's similar to the one we have for Emily' she says.

'Hi ladies, anything I can help you with' a saleswomen asks us.

'Yeah we're looking for my daughter in laws nursery' Julia says.

'Perfect, how far along are you and is this your first?' She asks me smiling.

'21 weeks and yes this is the first one' I say rubbing my belly.

'Amazing, this crib is cute right?' She says.

I nod 'Yes, I actually need everything' I say.

We find everything we need. I end up gettin the white crib, a white changing table with a yellow and white daisy print on it, a white padded rocking chair and a white shelving unit. I find a few cute baby outfits but since we don't know the baby's gender yet I didn't go crazy. Julia ends up paying for the furniture because they never got us a real wedding gift, which is crazy because they gave us a large check a few days after the surprise wedding.

We have lunch at a small outdoor cafe and we sit down outside.

'This reminds me of the place we went to when we were looking for you wedding dress' I say taking a sip of my water.

'Oh my god, that was over a year ago. Crazy to think I was introducing you as my daughter in law back then' she giggles.

I smile 'Yeah now we're married and this one will be here. It's crazy to think about' I say looking down at my belly and smiling.

'Have you thought of names?' She asks me.

I shake my head 'No, maybe once we find out what we're having' I tell her.
