A few days after Sokka's birthday, school becomes boring. I think it's because I'm closer to Khori and Maya now, but I'm so sure. Mai and I have a confusing relationship. We're very close, but when we begin to give each other compliment, it's very awkward.

Maybe school has become boring because my friend group has.  Jie is too busy hanging out with her new boyfriend Tao, and Paige has gone emo. Though Mingxia is to blame, she's too sweet for me to criticise.

Anyway, I told Sokka about how I felt and he told me to start hanging out with his friends more. "We're way more interesting them," he'd told me. "We have the best gossip in the entire school!" At that, I was immediately convinced because scandals, practically fed me.

"A MIXED CLUB!" Aang yells randomly as I take a seat beside him on our usual table.

"What?" I ask immediately.

"A mixed club," he repeats, but I'm still confused. "I know how we can make this school a more diverse place to be."

"But Aang," Katara begins. "This school is one of the most diverse places in the world-"

"That's not what I meant," Aang cuts in. "Did you know we're the only mixed-nation friend group in the entire cafeteria?"

I immediately look around the cafe. Aang's right. Every single table behind us looks like it's been sorted into cliques. "No, but I do now," Katara replies.

"What are you planning to do about it twinkle-toes?" Toph inquires.

"I'm gonna create a club where students from all four houses can make friends," he explains formally.

"I guess that's a good idea but," Toph starts nervously.

"But what?" Aang asks, clueless. Since he grew up with air nomads practically shielded from the real world, Aang is oblivious to things such as popularity.  No one's gonna spend their evening at a "mixed club". Especially if it's at school.

"No one's gonna wanna meet a bunch of loners in their free time," Toph says honestly. "No offence Sokka."

Sokka looks offended.

"What do you think Zuko?" Aang asks. "About the club?"

"Well, I don't think there are any kids at this school that are so lame they need to go to a club to make friends. Not anymore anyways," Zuko says, eyeing Sokka.

"What about we host a festival?" I suggest. "It sounds less nerdy than a club and I'm sure everyone would come."

"I think Su's idea is great! What if we host a mixed-nation festival this Friday at school and then watch some Nuktuck at the cinema afterwards?" Aang asks and we all nod in approval.

"So, who wants ask Principal White?" Katara asks.

Suddenly, my eyes bulge. I forgot all about the procedures you have to under go in order to host a festival. "If you want I'll go," Toph offers. "White loves me."

"It's fine," Aang replies. "I'm the Avatar, so it's my duty to unite the nations!"

I bite my lip, stopping myself from bursting out laughing. "Ok..." Sokka says finally but it makes things more awkward.

"So when should we plan it?" Zuko asks immediately and relief floods inside me. I'm grateful to anyone who ends awkward situations.

"Let's go after school at my place. Are you guys free?" Aang asks and everyone apart from Sokka nods.

"I have extra fencing lessons with Master Piandao. Sorry guys," he replies and I can see the smug look on his face looking, a bit too smug.
