"So, how does it feel to be grounded for the first time Sokka?" Katara asks viciously as she throws some clothes at me.

"Hey, that's not fair! I just ironed this pile!" I whine, showing her my pile of neatly folded clothes that lay elegantly on my bed.

"Well, you should have thought twice before getting arrested!" Kat spits.

"That's practically old news," I tell her casually. "Plus, Gran Gran's totally forgiven me!"

"No she hasn't," Katara exclaims, frustrated. "You've been suspended till the end of October. You should be ashamed of yourself!"

"Whatever," I scoff. "Too bad I'm not Zuko. He gets to live with his mum!"

"What?" Katara asks, confused.

"Didn't he tell you? His father disowned him!"

"Oh, that's horrible! Sokka, how could you be smiling at something like that?" Kat asks, horrified.

"I knew you still liked him," I tease and Kat frowns.

"I do not!"

OCTOBER

I thought things between me and my new set of friends would eventually change due to me and Zuko's absence, but it didn't, because me and Zuko still secretly met Aang, Suki and Toph at the Jasmine Dragon.  Occasionally, Toph couldn't come because of her strict parents but that's why I'm meeting her today.

"Sokka, can I come in?" Gran Gran ask, entering my room.

"I mean, you're already inside so why not? " I say angrily, dropping my gaming console. "Look at that! You made me loose!"

"You should be grateful," Gran Gran begins, sitting on my bed. "That I wasn't curel enoguh to give you other punishments."

"I guess," I sigh.

"Sokka, you are no longer grounded," Gran Gran announces.

My eyes brighten. "Really?"

"Yes," she tells me before getting up. "Also, if Katara comes home, tell her to empty the dishwasher and make us pasta, ok?"

"Ok-Gran Gran-wait!" I call, and Gran Gran turns around instantly.

"Yes Sokka?" she asks.

"I'm sorry for chasing after the pendant. I didn't end up getting back anyways so really, there was no point in me-"

"Sweetheart don't say that," Gran Gran comforts. "There is nothing wrong in doing what is right.

When I was a teenager, I ran away so I could be free. Many people told me I was stupid and that I was going to regret my decision but now, I have two lovely grandchildren  I wouldn't trade for the world."

🗡

Toph slowly gets out of her parents' black limo wearing a pair of black leggings and a fluffy white crop top.

Smiling, Toph waves at the car as it speeds off into the distance. "My parents will pick me up in a bit," she says, her eyes wander to her expensive watch. "Is everything alright?"

"I mean, not really," I say, looking around the park. There's a beautiful fountain in the centre of the gardens, and surrounding it are colourful flowers of spring.

I take a seat by the fountains and Toph joins me. "So are you and Zuko friends now?" she asks.

"Yep. It's nice passing ever single test I take just because my friend is royalty," I chuckle.
