"SOKKA!" Suki yells, running towards me and Toph in her delicate diamond heels. Something about her made me really happy, but I didn't know what.

"I thought you were wearing that mini red dress from Fire Look?" I ask embracing Suki with a smile.

"Did you really think my mum would let me go to my last ever Winter Formal in Fire Look?" she asks, raising a brow.

"Maybe," I shrug and Suki laughs. "Have you seen Aang?"

"No," Suki replies, raising her voice so the two of us can hear her over the loud party music. " I haven't seen Zuko or Katara yet either. Have you?"

I shake my head and Toph lifts a finger. "We saw them at the start but then they just waltzed away," Toph jokes.

"So, aren't you guys going to dance?" Suki asks after a while, holding Toph's hands and swaying to the music. "This is our last Winter Formal, Sokka. Don't you wanna have fun?"

"Okay," I reply, joining them hesitantly.

"Nice moves you guys," Kiss says to my surprise and I spin around in shock. People need to stop surprising me like that cos it's getting really creepy. "You guys having fun?"

"You bet," Toph grins, stiffening slightly. "I love your dress."

"Thank you," Kiss says, looking down at her baby-doll dress. "I must say, you girls look lovely."

Suki snorts in surprise, but then gives Kiss an apologetic smile. Eventually I spot Aang and his date Luya walking towards us. "Hi Kiss," Aang says and Suki and I share baffled looks. Why is he addressing her first? "This is Luya, my date."

"Hi Luya," Kiss greets kindly. "I love your dress."

"Thank you," Luya stutters, expect her dress sucks.

As we all begin to talk, the music stops, causing the room to go silent. "May I have your attention please," White begins, staring down at us from the stage. "Ice Queen and King will be announced in 20 minutes, so if you haven't voted yet, vote now. And also, a slow song was requested," Principal White adds and a few people at the front groan.

Suddenly, melodious music fills the room and everyone shuffles over to their date. Oh no. Toph nears me, and very slowly rests her arms on my shoulders. I panic, not sure what to do with my hands.

"Are you looking at me?" Toph asks, her voice suddenly soft.

"No," I lie, placing my hands around her waist. Toph's breath hitches ever so slightly, and my grip on her loosens immediately.  "Did you like the apple juice I got you earlier? If you did, I can get some," I say, panicking.

"I don't understand," Toph says softly as we sway to the music. I fight the urge to kiss her, but its almost impossible. Toph is inhumanly beautiful, and though she can be rough at times, she is angelic and dainty in moments like these. If she saw what I looked like, she'd sprint all the way to Ba Sing Se. No princess like her would want to be with a peasant like me, I just got really lucky. "Do you not want to dance with me?" Toph asks, quivering beneath my touch.

"I do but-" I begin, but she cuts me off.

"You don't like me," Toph says, backing away.

"What? No! Of course I like you," I begin but she's already turning away.

"Toph." I try to grab her hand but she waves me off.

"Sokka let go!"

Without thinking twice, I kiss her, pressing my mouth against hers as lightly as I can. All of a sudden I have her in my arms and my hands are curling along her neck, tracing her shape, the line of her spine.

When I break out of the kiss, Toph looks something between horrified and excited. "Sokka," she says breathlessly, and then we're kissing again...

SUKI'S POV

I walk into the main hall just as the slow song finishes. "Have you guys voted yet?" I ask Sokka, Toph, Aang, Luya and Kiss.

"Not yet," Toph says, holding Sokka's hand. "Why, what's wrong?"

"Don't vote for Ty Lee!" I exclaim.

"Why would we vote for Ty Lee?" Aang asks, revolted.

"Vote for Kiss and Zuko," I advise strictly.

"I was planning on doing just that," Toph replies. "But thanks for the reminder."

"Speaking of Zuko, where is he?" Sokka asks, looking elsewhere.

"Maybe they're in the bathroom," I cheekily suggest and Aang angrily turns to face me.

"Don't say that!" he hisses. "It's inappropriate."

I try to stop myself from laughing. "Sorry Aang."
