"Did you like the movie?" Zuko asked Katara, swinging an arm over her shoulder.

Kat didn't say anything. Instead, she tried not to moan as Zuko occasionally caressed her thighs.

The two were at Zuko's mansion, all cuddled up in his extremely large family room.

"You're being awfully quiet," Zuko commented, kissing her temple. "You okay?"

"Yep," Kat said before snuggling out of his reach. She wasn't okay. She was tormented by how well their relationship was going, couldn't get her head around the fact that it was real. Sometimes she dreamt of Zuko breaking her heart, like Jet. "I just- I have to go."

"What?"  Zuko stood up from the couch, almost knocking over the bowl of popcorn resting on the sofa arm. "It's only 5 past 6."

"Gran Gran will be looking for me, and Sokka will be pissed," Kat said, half-lying.

She reached for the door handle but before she could leave Zuko kissed her gently, his hands wrapping tightly around her waist. When they broke out of the kiss, Kat sighed. "Zuko, I really have to go."

"Please Kat, you're the only good thing I have left in my life," Zuko begged and Kat gave him a  baffled look of sympathy.

"What do you mean?"

"All of my 'friends' left me for this new guy called Carlos, so other than the fact that I don't have a social life, you're the only reason my life is exciting," Zuko explained and Kat made her way back to the lounge.

"Was that too dramatic?" Zuko asked a few seconds later, making Kat laugh.

"No," she cupped his face and kissed him.

"Why did you want to leave?" asked Zuko. "I know it had nothing to do with your Gran Gran getting pissed."

"Believe me, it didm" Kat reassured him.

"You know you can tell me anything?" Zuko whispered against her ear, his hands trailing up her thighs.

Kat gasped. "I-" she was trembling uncontrollably now.

"You?"

"I was scared," she managed, holding back a moan.

"Of?"

"Losing you."

"That's bullsh*t."

"It's not bullsh*t!" Kat moved away from him, taking the blanket with her.

"Kat, I didn't mean it like that," Zuko mumbled, fed up. "You know I'd never hurt you."

"I don't believe a word you're saying," Kat admitted.

"I love you," Zuko said before looking away.

"You kissed Mai before we got together!" Katara exclaimed.

Zuko looked down shamefully. "I though we were over that."

"No, we're not. You made such a reckless decision, and didn't think about how that would affect me after we got into a relationship. What made you think I wouldn't suspect you cheating on me again?" Katara asked.

Zuko gulped. "I love you," he said again.

"Are you sure?" Katara whispered. "Are you sure you won't break my heart?"

"I'm not going to break your heart, Katara," Zuko chuckled sadly.

"You're reassurance won't stop me from thinking about it," she muttered.

She silently neared him before collapsing into his arms, letting his hands slither up and down her shoulders. She wished this moment would never end...
