Chapter 45 : Aang 💨 | Climax

Monk Gyatso was furious at Aang and Yarla when they came home from their mini adventure, but when Aang offered to clean out the air-bison stables every week, he let them off. Appa was his favourite air-bison, and the cutest in the herd, so hanging out with him was the best punishment Aang could ask for. 

On Ji turned out to be a beautiful girl with interesting thoughts, and Aang enjoyed her company as much as he could. Occasionally, Luya would look his way, but he was not scared of her.The tabloids had forgotten about everything that had happened that day, so he was safe now, and was never going to let anything lie that happen to him again.

It turned out the rumour Aang was spreading about Suki was false, and it was really Yarla who kissed Zuko. 

"I still can't believe you kissed Zuko," Aang said to her, and Yarla brushed him away.

"I didn't. But I wish I did," Yarla said airily.

Aang was extremely confused. "If you didn't kiss Zuko, who did?" he asked.

"I don't know."

Aang groaned in disappointment. "Suki saw you come into school that night. Is that true?" Yarla nodded. "Why were you there?" Aang couldn't stop with the questions as they just kept coming, but he needed to solve this ongoing mystery.

"I needed to give Miss Joo-dee the red wig I bought for the play," Yarla replied innocently.

"Red wig? That's pretty suspicious," Aang began, quirking a brow. "At the moment, people think you wore the red wig and kissed Zuko. They think you framed Suki, and I'm not gonna lie, I think so too."

Yarla's mouth dropped. "Aang, why would I do that? You know me," she started furiously.

"You looked pretty mad at Suki the day we snuck out," Aang replied.

"Because I was jealous of her and Meelu hanging out," Yarla justified.

"You have a motive, how do you expect people to believe you're innocent?" Aang asked.

"You tell me Aang. After all, you're the Avatar," Yarla sighed, slumping further into her chair.

"What were you doing that night? Tell me everything," Aang demanded.

"Dropping off my wig, I already told you!" Yarla exclaimed but Aang was quick to interrupt.

"Did you see anyone at school?"

"Yes. I saw Miss Joo-dee, Khori, Maya and Abelia," Yarla listed. "They were all there to rehearse for the school play."

"We have to go interrogate them," Aang snapped, getting up. "Come on!"

Yarla grabbed Aang by the arm."I think we should ask Zuko what happened," she told him reasonably. "After all, he's the one that got kissed."
