"Bongiorno, signorina! (good morning, Miss)" The guard at the door of the museum says smiling when I reach him
"Bongiorno, Alfredo" I reply smiling back, as I show him my badge for him to scan it
"Signora Rossi ha bisogno di te (Mrs. Rossi needs you)"
"Vado subito, grazie (I'm going immediately, thanks)" I reply and go inside

"Good morning! Yes, I want a favor"
"Ok, what is it?"
"I need you to take over a tour in English, the guide who was supposed to do it is sick and I have no one else who knows all about the exhibits at such short notice"
"Va be' (It's ok), I have nothing important to do anyway, I'll do it"

"I know, I know, but I was trying to find someone else because I didn't want to put you through this, it's not part of your job. And then I knew you were on your way, so... you can go change if you want though, the tour is in an hour"
"No, it's ok, I was working as a bartender for 2 weeks on high heels, I can take it"
"Right, I keep forgetting what you were doing while you were in college" she says and after giving me the itinerary for the tour, I go to my office to get ready

"Good morning everyone, my name is Sandra and I'll be your guide for today. I'm not an actual guide, I'm an art curator with a Master's in Italian Art History, but I know everything about this museum and, of course, its exhibits, so trust me. Do you have any questions before we start?" I present myself and then look at all of them to see if anyone has a question and to get to know their faces in case I turn around and see that I'm missing a few.
