About 2 weeks later I get a text message from Mr. Maddox
Good morning Sandra,
I'm happy to inform you that this Saturday, we have the grand opening of our coffee shop. I'll need you there from 17.00 until the end. Fred will spend about 2 hours showing you and Mike how to pour some drinks, because that's mainly what we will serve. You have to be wearing either black jeans and a white top or white jeans and a black top, and comfortable shoes. If you have any other questions, contact me or Fred.
After reading the message I call Mike
"Good morning!" he says happily when he picks up
"Good morning! Did u get the text from Mr. Maddox?"
"What text?"
"The one saying about the grand opening this Saturday and the dress code"
"Oh, I didn't get a text from Mr. Maddox, Fred called me about an hour ago"
"Oh, um, ok..."
"I thought Fred was the one that's supposed to inform us...like when he called us for the tryouts"
"Mr. Maddox called me for that, too..."
"Whaaaat? Seriously?"
"Yeah...weird!"
"Super weird...the man is like a ghost! If u didn't tell me u have talked with him, I'd still believe he's just a make-belief-persona"
"Well, he's very real and kinda rude! More like a robot actually...he called me, told me about the tryouts, told me that I speak too much and at the end, he hung up without waiting for me to thank him..."
"Yeah, I've heard he's super weird..."
"I got that from the way we got hired...I felt like I was in TopChef or something" I say and he laughs
"True dat!"
"Anyway, ok, since u know about the opening..."
"Yeah...I just need to go get new jeans, because the ones I have are ripped on the knees and I'm guessing he won't like that"
"Yeah, sounds like him!" I say rolling my eyes and after talking for a little while more, we hang up
