3rd Person's POV

3 DAYS LATER

"Oh, you're back! That's too soon," Jameson greeted the man sitting on his chair already after just three days of honeymoon. He even arrived at the company before the employees and Jameson.

"Do you expect me to have a whole week leave?"

"Yes! It should be more than just a week. What happened? Is the honeymoon boring?" and he gave a teasing laugh to Xander who immediately shook his head.

"Nah, I actually had a blast," he corrected and that made the story-digger widen his eyes.

"Ohh you must have the steamiest nights of your life. How far did you go?" He sounded so malicious.

"Very high," a smile lets out from his mouth unconsciously. "We had camped."

"Wait, what?" Jameson was totally enjoying the kink when he realized that the last sentence was told too serious to be a joke. "Camping, you say?"

Xander nodded.

"You're a saint, Xander. Should I praise you now? What the hell!"

"What's the matter with that? The trip was so fun!"

"That's totally not you. Look, you're married to her, she's your wife already and you have all the rights to do it," he stopped for a second to study the reaction of the man. "Don't tell me you respect her choices so you held back?" he continued.

Xander was silent. It's not like an obligation that he had to accomplish but why does it feel he did something unlike him?

"Wake up, Xander. Are you perhaps falling in love with her?" That question was so straightforward and though he knew it's where the conversation is going, he still felt moved.

"Am I not allowed to? I mean, she is my wife," he retorted in a low tone, a statement that does not admit anything but also admits all.

"It's not right. I-I mean..." Jameson paused and averted his eyes. His expression turned really bothered that also changed his boss's mood.

"What's the matter?" he asked worriedly.

"I don't want to ruin your atmosphere this early. But I think you should know it ahead of time before anything gets deeper."

"Cut the chase and tell me this instant." He is starting to feel anxious about this prelude.

"You told me to befriend Kiel and extract any information I could that's interesting. I found something very interesting," he started the pressing talk. "He was scouted for a scholarship abroad and the head of the organization was my friend so it was easy for me to be friends with him, too. We had a drink two days before your wedding and I think he was so drunk that he prattled lots of things."

"Make this fast or I'll cut your tongue instead." He is getting really impatient.

"He loves your wife."

There was silence so Jameson clarified. "Romantically. He loves her that way." Xander is still holding his wrinkled forehead but nothing much sign of trigger so the sweaty assistant carried on.

"He told me that he just accepted the offer abroad to get himself enough power to be able to fight for her. He felt so useless for not being able to stop the marriage because he is powerless but is very determined to go back with a name. Yeah, that's what he told me."

"Is that it? Should I be threatened by that? Are you kidding me, Jameson? That's just a petty and hopeless promise to the wind.." he couldn't finish because Jameson already interfered.
