3rd Person's POVGabbie wore her 4-inch shining silver heels as the last touch. Everyone in the room has the same look of amazement and awe at the woman's radiating beauty. She is now facing the whole body mirror, examining herself. She is clad in a bloody red off-shoulder gown with a slit up until her thighs. Her hair is a curled plait braid that shows off her fancy silver dangler earrings. Her lowered sweetheart gown neckline also reveals her collar bone and her silver infinity-designed necklace. It's totally appealing yet the girl can't seem to gather her confidence and sporadically deepens her breathing.
"You're such a gorgeous lady, Ma'am. No wonder Sir Xander had gone head over heels for you," the main stylist teased the woman but she did not believe one bit of it, of course. They are hearing lots of rumors for sure.
"I'm sure Mrs. Evans is a lot more beautiful from the inside. Sir Xander must be thanking the stars for sending him an angel," the assistant stylist added and they both giggled and blushed. That was too much of a compliment. Gabbie would be lying if she denied getting flattered. Everyone loves compliments anyways. Albeit she knew there's no way for those to be true, it adds a little bit of self-esteem, at least.
"You're all set, Ma'am. Let us escort you outside," they offered and Gabbie adhered to it after mustering up.
They walked Gabbie outside her room. The atmosphere is already welcoming the night. It's dusk. The lights on the hallways and in the living room are switched on heretofore. They accompanied her down the stairs where her husband has been waiting for about ten minutes now. Gabbie has been running alibis in her mind as she knows how much Xander hates waiting.
She was halfway down the first floor when she met Xander's eyes. The man's stare followed her until she reached the ground. Gabbie swerved her eyes and was tensed again for the nth time. But this time, it was Xander's intense gaze that made her self-conscious.
Xander's appearance is as usual, jaw-dropping. With his turtleneck full black suit, he could probably seduce everyone without even trying. But she cannot have the chance to give him an eye because the man is doing it to her instead for some time now.
"Uhm, I don't think I look good. Is my dress ok?" that was her lack of self-confidence who's spitting nonsense.
After a few seconds of being silent, like what usually happens to him whenever he would stare at this girl, Xander declared, "That dress isn't fine," and looked at the two stylists behind.
They were startled and started to reason out to save their lives. "My apology, Sir but that's the most conserved dress in our collection," the head of the two said.
"What? So your collection is all bikinis, is that what you're saying?" he scowled, not believing that a dress as revealing as this is the most conserved already.
"It's not like that, Sir. It's just this dress suits her so well. Her beauty stands out more with bright colors." the other one unveiled the case, not losing hope for their lives to be saved.
"Yeah, and that's the problem here," he sighed. "Why can't you understand instructions?" he is still frustrated and the two stylists fell silent, both their necks bent down.
Gabbie felt the need to defend them since she agreed to this outfit. They can't just take all the blame. And even though she doesn't know where Xander's anger is coming from, she still spoke, "I'm comfortable with this, I'm ok with it."
Xander checked her eyes to confirm if she was telling the truth. And no, that's a lie. Gabbie will never be comfortable with these types of dresses, not exactly because it shows some skin but because she had not once worn a dress this expensive at a party in the first place. "Besides, it's past the time, everyone must be looking for you." she convinced him, trying to divert the topic.
