3rd Person's POV
Gabbie went to Xander's room and saw him getting ready for work. "Are you sure you're good?" she confirmed as she searched out some necktie for him in his walk-in closet.
"Yes, I'm more than good," he said and let Gabbie do his tie.
"What about you rest for now, my love?" Gabbie said, sincerely worried about this patient who already wants to go back to work after that incident.
"Do you really want me to stay for today?" He looked her in the eye and asked. They just stared at each other while Gabbie is still holding his unfinished tie. Xander wrapped his hands around the woman's waist and pulled her closer. "Can you persuade me further?" He teased.
Gabbie did not say anything but she slowly untangled the tie she has been up to. Xander chuckled to it. "Oh! That's tempting, huh." Gabbie reciprocated the laughter and pushed him softly. She felt shy.
But Xander reached out to her again and this time, he gave her a hug that Gabbie immediately received and gave back. They fondled on each other's back as if comforting each other's heartbreak. "I missed you," he exhaled while eyes closed.
"I miss you, too." Gabbie replied. There was no specific reason to miss each other for they are always with each other but somehow, she felt it, too. Like it has been a long time since they had this peaceful moment.
"I miss making love to you," he continued and Gabbie's relaxed mind went laughing again. Xander faced her. "Come to think of it, when was the last time we had sex, my love?" He seriously asked and Gabbie is just laughing at his randomness. Still, she thinks.
"Uhmm, 1 or 2 weeks ago?"
"Ugh! That felt like 2 years ago!" He exclaimed!
Gabbie caressed his arms while sighing, "A lot of things happened, yeah." She painted a curt smile.
"Oh before I forgot, how was your presentation? Did the panel like it?" he asked and Gabbie froze a second there yet she was brought back to herself promptly.
"Yeah, they did!" she lied charily and continued her do his tie. Maybe it was the last her wobbled hands can grab after that unexpected question.
Xander nodded, "See? You were so worried for nothing." Gabbie only smiled at him.
"And since you already fastened my necktie, it's decided, I gonna work today." He teased again and Gabbie could only face-palmed but did not disagree any further. The man does not change plans after all. He must have a huge matter to discuss today and he was ready by the early morning. She escorted him downstairs to the terrace.
"Are you not going with me?" the man asked and the girl just shook her head.
"It's ok, you go first. I still have to prepare my things." Xander just agreed to it since there was no time either that they headed to the company in the same car. Gabbie doesn't want it but Xander still offers every day.
The man rode his car that hit the road without delay, leaving Gabbie by the porch. When the car is nowhere to be seen anymore, her reaction instantly changed as she picked up her phone to message Clyde.
"Let's meet now, same bar," she called the shots and Clyde didn't play hard to get as he wanted to talk to her, too.
Gabbie prepared herself hastily and also exited the mansion using her car all the way to the bar she went to on that day of the incident. The bar was actually owned by Clyde and he was there already when Gabbie came.
"I heard Xander's going to work again. That's too bad, I was racked in the hospital for a week and he just made it only after three days."
"I'll stop this, Clyde. I don't wanna continue betraying Xander. I-I can't," she pronounced and Clyde stood up to fix a stare on her.
