CH48 - Safe

3rd Person's POV

"How much time do you need to fix that?" Xander inquired.

"I have checked the file and I think the damage is quite massive. I'll be needing two to three weeks, perhaps," Jameson admitted. The boss understood the situation since he knew Jameson is always doing his best on his job.

"Ok, then give it to me whenever it's ready. And one thing's important," he raised his index finger to emphasize the note. "Don't ever let the recording be on my father's care. Never."

Jameson is aware of the statement's implication and also knew the reason behind it. Mr. Alejandro will completely destroy the file especially if it truly holds something against him and Xander should never let that happen. He has to know the whole truth this time.

"But what if he threatens to kill me?" Jameson acted scared but Xander only glared at him.

"He will not kill you, I guarantee that. Just tell him you don't have the recording and he'll not force it out on you."

"How can you be so sure?"

"He still needs you in this company to just get rid of you like that for a shitty recording."

"Is that so? I'm flattered, Sir Xander. But who knows, maybe the recording is not that shitty."

The man was about to talk back when his phone rang, a call from Gabbie's father's admission hospital. He was so surprised to see it and answered it after a single ring. "Yes, this is Alexander Evans speaking."

"Sir good news! Your father-in-law just woke up!" After receiving that line, he immediately stood up from his seat that even Jameson was startled.

"Ok, I'm coming," and without sparing a second, he exited his office without even telling Jameson what was going on. The secretary could only scratch his skull for what just happened.

Before coming out of the company building, Xander came to Gabbie's workplace which shook the whole staff in the room. He seems to rattled and everyone got scared of what was going on.

The man went straight to Gabbie's team only to find out she is not there. Quinn and Lester stood up very surprised of his unannounced visit as they thought it is.

"Gabbie, where's Ms. Sanchez?" he was even breathless when he asked that.

Quinn blinked twice before giving him light to the question. "She's out, Sir. She requested a leave because her father-,"

"Ok, thank you." The hospital might have called her already so he left the work space at once like a wind that just passed by. Everyone was silent when he left while their eyes are asking each other 'what just happened?'

"Get back to work everyone!" Mr. Dave shouted at them which brought them back to their focus that were held still for a while. Xander goes down so rarely and that is only when something very important is up or when there is a problem to be addressed immediately. That's why the employee's heart rate intensifies in a snap at a glance of him like there's a disaster coming.

But Xander's concern in not in his company right now. He drove his car and went to the hospital alone. Even the guards were confused when he went down running to go out. Yet no one stopped him, though, as if someone would dare.

Fifteen minutes after when he reached the hospital. That would be the fastest travel time from the company to the said place since traffic is heavy in this time of day. Xander just had ways to make it there as fast as he could. He went straight to his father-in-law's ward floor-the 7th-and there by the hallway are Gabbie, Gwyneth, and Garry, all looking so uneasy and tensed. They are waiting for the doctor to come out the ICU.
