Gabbie's POV

I wanna go home. I miss my brother. That brat has not called me even once since my wedding. What a cold-hearted kid. Gwyneth must be busy taking care of my father, too. I hope they are all doing fine.

Tomorrow I'm going back to school. I miss Leia so much and I'm so excited to end the day. But it's 7 am at the moment and I heaved a deep breath.

Another day of sorrow.

I got up and went straight to the bathroom. I must have a limpid mind to cope with everything.

An early knock on my door had me hasten my actions to respond to it quickly. I went out of the bathroom, wiped myself clean, and opened the door only to see Belle that is clad with her bright smile.

"Good morning Ma'am. I'm here to tell you that Sir Xander wants to see you. He is in his office," she declared and I replied nicely. Her tone was very calm. Little did she know how terrifying that summon is. But it's not like I can do something about it. Albeit my heart instantly raced after hearing his name in the early morning, I kept it all hidden and put up a gleeful mask.

I obliged the call. After I dress up properly, I went straight to his office which is a few steps away from my room. The only barrier between them is his bedroom which is next to mine.

I knocked and immediately got a response to come in. He must really be waiting for me. But for what? I will be for three score years and ten mindless about his thoughts and plans if there are. Because for some reason, I could see that he is planning to destroy my life. He is doing this on purpose.

"You looked disrupted from a deep sleep. You should set yourself waking up early from this day on," that's his first statement even before I came near.

And now I'm in front of his desk, standing like a pet who must always obey her master or else, be abandoned. But that abandonment does not mean going out of the cage, instead, strangled until suffocated to death.

I was not looking at him. I maintained my eyes on the carpet while my hands are holding each other due to slight fear. I can tell he is looking at me right now and waiting for what I am about to say, but I remained silent. There is no point in defending myself anymore.

"I called you to set up rules. I've realized we never had a proper agreement about this marriage," he started and veered his eyes to recall what he'd done for the past days, "I was out of my mind," he enunciated as if whispering to himself but it was intelligible to me. I understood right away.

He stood up to begin his show. "I promised to make your life miserable, right?" That was told in the creepiest way possible.

I made a glance at him. The Xander that I see now is the real Xander. The man I have met for the first time in this house who talked shit about me and my family. He is far from that man whom I thought I could have a good bond with, whom I foolishly believed I could love. I was the one who forgot for a while that I married a monster.

"Yes," I answered with my austere expression. He smirked at that and got something from his table. He walked toward me and showed me a brown envelope.

"Sign this," he commanded.

I was hesitant at first because I sensed danger in the context. I looked at him for the second time and saw his undwindling eyes. I was out of my mind to expect that he would lend me some grace. He is adamant about this.

I reached out the envelope and opened it without sparing a second. It's the marriage agreement he was talking about minutes ago and by the looks of it, it's done and fixed. He even signed it already. Only the space above my name is blank.
