3rd Person's POV"I'm here to pass the format, Sir." Gabbie placed the document above the director's desk while the man is giving her sharp glares.
"Why are you passing this instead? Does your subordinate not confident enough to present this and thinks you'd be a good shield?"
"I am here for work, Sir. Am not trying to start an argument. Please check the proposal." Even still heavy-hearted, Mr. Dave took the file and started to review it as he should. Gabbie's team came prepared this time and made sure to submit a proper proposal format.
"I'll accept this," the director stated while rolling eyes. "Today should be a good day for me and I'll never let you ruin it," he mentioned and even felt the urge to share the thrilling news to the lady, "Just for your update, we're gonna have an important meeting today and be ready because your time on top is about to end in a bad note," he blabbed.
Gabbie is fully cognizant of the board meeting that's about to happen and she knew, too what card Mr. Dave has that makes him this confident to win. The evidence was even delivered by her in an anonymous name just this morning.
She woke up so early to get the necklace out of the bathroom and tip-toed again leaving the room with Xander still in his dreamland. The moment she arrived at her dimmed bedroom and locked her door, she wiped her invisible sweat on the forehead.
"Sir, the meeting is about to start. They are requesting your presence," an assistant came on time to make the call and Mr. Dave's face brightened in a flash. He stood up while arranging his suit and smirking towards the woman.
"Wait for it, Ms. Sanchez, I, myself, will be the one to fire you," he gave oath to before he stepped out of his desk to follow the assistant who came.
The girl waited patiently on her unit, biting her nails due to tension. She doesn't know what to expect, what to do, and what to think. Will they be able to bring down Xander from his position with that recording inside the necklace pendant? But what is even inside that recording? She didn't have the time to listen when it was still on her care because she had no time to and was so perturbed to begin with. Yet from the looks of it, it must be a vital information that may take down the Evans once and for all.
They will now be able to pay the price of using a weak and powerless woman like me.
They will now be able to pay the price of attempting to get me killed.
They will now pay my precious angel's life, though my child will never have a price to be paid.
"Are you ok, manager?" Quinn had to interrupt her deep thoughts because she is getting distracting.
"Ah? Yes, I'm fine, I'm fine," with that stutter answer, Quinn did not believed it for sure even so could not ask more since her manager does not seem to share her burden.
Not so long when a bunch of directors exited the meeting hall and separated their ways towards each offices. Everyone lent a short glance at them who now have different paints on their faces. Some shows satisfaction, some are confused, and some are upset. Gabbie does not exactly know which of them is in the Evans' side and which is the opposition so she cannot instantly predict the result of the board meeting.
But with Mr. Dave, she can confirm it all.
The finance director stamped his way towards his unit while loosening his neck tie. He seems upset, no, he is totally angry. That gave the conclusion to Gabbie that something wrong happened and Mr. Dave's plan did not succeed at all.
What could have happened?
She will never know until she asks but not to the man directly. It has to be someone else. She stood up without saying anything and went to their office's balcony. She messaged Clyde.
