The rest of the day I spend mostly sleeping in Kelsy's bed. I am not about to be going anywhere. It has been awhile since I have gotten any sleep.
Usually on weekends I didn't work I would stay at Kelsy's so I wouldn't have to deal with my mom.
See, my mom is a bad alcoholic. And on weekends when she could manage to get herself off of the couch she would be at the bar until close. Coming home with any guy that was drunk enough to think that it was a good idea.
Never knew who my dad was, he was probably just some one night stand. My mom always blames her drinking on her having to raise me. She gets a little for welfare which she just spends on booze. If I didn't work all of the time, they would've come and kicked us out of the small house that we do have, awhile ago.
I finally leave Kelsy's room around supper time feeling rested. We get in her car and make our way to Ray's. It's one of our favorite places and they let us hang out for as long as we want.
When we walk through the door, we make a beeline for the big corner booth even though it is just the two of us.
"What are you gonna get?" Kelsy asks as she stares at the menu herself.
"I don't know yet. Kinda of thinking breakfast food. Maybe waffles." I shrug my shoulders as I reply not looking up.
Finally deciding what I want I put my menu down and look at Kelsy.
"Should I call Roxy and Jackson see if they want to come hang out?" She asks already picking up her phone. I nod my head.
"Yeah I'll text Wyatt quick, too." I send a quick text to Wyatt to come hang out with us and it doesn't take him long to reply that he's on his way.
"Wyatt's on his way." I let Kelsy know.
"Okay, Roxy and Jax are almost here, too."
"Hello, my girlies! How are you tonight?" An older lady with long hair died a pastel pink, comes up to our table. She's one of our favorite waitresses here.
"Angie!!" We both exclaim, getting up to give her a hug. "Where have you been lately?" I ask.
"On vacation visiting my son and grandbabies up North. My how fast all of those little ones grow."
"That sounds great! I bet it's even chillier up there this time of year." Kelsy says.
"Oh it was, honey. It is a good thing my daughter-in-law is just as cold blooded as I am, so we kept the heat up pretty high. How has your girl's weekend been going so far?"
"Not so bad. Went to a party last night, that was pretty fun." I say before being interrupted by Kelsy.
"Yeah until she left and found a mysterious man in the park."
She smiles. "Ooh child, spill. You know I live vicariously through you young ones."
"Oh, he was definitely drool worthy. You would've definitely approved, Angie."
"So, you going to bring him in here?" She asks excitedly, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"Woah, I don't know about that. I've only talked to him once and we haven't spoken since."
"If he's as good looking as you say, child, I would make it a point of seeing him again." She gives me a wink and continues to take our orders.
Soon the whole gang is there and we waste a few hours eating, laughing, and just having a good time.
Once we decide to leave we choose to just walk around town for awhile. Jax and Roxy are all over each other per usual, and Kelsy and Wyatt have come up with some kind of skipping game. I smile as I watch them all.
