I pull up in front of my house and park my car. As I'm walking up the steps to the door I hear the loud noise of the TV. I slowly open the front door only to slam it shut just in time for a glass bottle to smash against it.
I swing the door open once again completely pissed. "What the fuck, Mom!"
"Where the hell have you been all night?"
"Out." I state simply, it was none of her god damn business. She didn't really care anyway.
"That's not an answer."
"It was a word that formed a response, so yeah it is an answer." I turn away and start heading toward my room.
"Don't turn away from me, you little whore." I ignore her and slam my door in her face. She goes on continuing to yell at me through my door but I ignore her and gather my things.
I grab a pair of skinny jeans, a baggy white shirt, and a big tan cardigan. After grabbing a towel, bra, and underwear, I head towards the bathroom pushing past my mother, who is still yelling, in the process.
After a quick shower, I text Roxy.
DM: Hey need a ride this morning?
R: Nah Jax is picking me up.
DM: Sweet, moms at my throat this morning. might be late.
R: Kk. love you!
DM: love you 2!
I get dressed and go back to my room to grab a beanie and my sneakers. My cardigan is pretty big and warm so I don't bother grabbing a jacket.
Grabbing my work clothes so I don't have to stop by here after school, I take a deep breath before opening my bedroom door and brace myself to dealing with my mother once more before being able to get out of the house.
"There she is, you really think you can be a disrespectful little twat and still expect me to support your ass?" She slurs. She's definitely been up all night drinking.
"Support my ass? Who the fuck are you trying to kid? I've been supporting my own ass since I've been able to wash dishes under the table at Ray's. Only thing you've ever supported was the bartenders pay check." With that I stepped over the glass on the floor, swung the front door open and shut it behind me just as another bottle smashed against it.
"Crazy bitch!" I scream through the door, ignoring the neighbor that was outside in his yard. I stomp towards my car and drive to school.
As I pull up to the school, I take one of the pills Dillon had given me and chase it down with a coffee I had stopped to get at the gas station. I wait in my car for awhile, knowing that I was already late for first period, I decided just to skip it.
I sit on my phone waiting for the time to go by. Time passes quickly and next thing I know it's already 9:30. I grab my bag and make my way into the building.
I walk into my small engines class with a couple minutes to spare before the bell rings. I scan the room and find Wyatt sitting in the back on his phone.
He doesn't bring his eyes up until I'm just about next to him.
"Deidre!" He jumps up and gives me a hug. "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!"
"You saw me Monday." I say laughing at his goofiness. He's always been like the hyperactive little brother of the group, but we all love him. "Would've seen me yesterday if you didn't insist on skipping school all the time."
"It's too boring. And you're one to talk! You skip almost as often as I do."
"I'm still on track to graduate though, and I have decent enough grades that my teachers don't really care."
