School passes by slowly and before I know it, it's time for work.
I arrive early so I sit on my hood and light a cigarette. A minute later Oliver pulls up and parks beside me. As soon as he steps out, he lights a smoke and looks at me.
"Alright lady. I have been dying all weekend waiting for tonight so you can tell me about your date! Spill, spill, spill!"
I tell Oliver about my date with Dillon and by the time we have to go in he's finally done gushing. We walk through the doors and clock in after putting our things in the closet.
"Oliver! Deidre! My favorite employees!" Kate says, bringing dishes into the kitchen.
"You say that to all of us." I say laughing.
"Because you are all my favorite. Especially when you show up to relieve me!" She says as she pulls her apron off. "And if y'all don't mind I've got myself a hot date I have to get ready for."
I take in her full appearance. Besides her being dressed in a pair of jeans and a work shirt, she already looks dolled up. She is originally from Texas and has the hair to prove it. It was bleach blonde and she keeps it teased high.
"Kate, you look stunning already. I would just change so you don't smell like burgers."
"Psh, darlin' this is my daytime face."
"Girl, you know Bruce thinks you're gorgeous no matter what. If I had a man like that I would never leave the house." Olly tells her as he starts to daydream.
"Who said the date consists of leaving my house." She gives us an exaggerated wink. " Any who, I'll be off. Y'all have a good night!"
"Yes ma'am." We say in unison in our best southern accents.
With it being a Monday night it's slow, so Oliver and I take our time doing all the cleaning. About an hour into my shift, Bobo comes walking in with a few guys from the shop.
Last to make it through the door is Dillon and I feel a smile spread across my face. He looks straight towards the bar and as soon as our eyes meet he gives me his signature smirk.
"Hello, beautiful!" He hollers to me.
"Hello, handsome." I shout back, skipping from behind the bar. Once I reach him, I jump up wrapping my legs around his torso, thankfully he catches me, and I give him a kiss. Neither of us caring that everyone in the place is watching at this point.
"Have a good day?" I ask as he puts me back on my own two feet.
"Wasn't too bad, but it's a hell of a lot better now." He says giving me another quick kiss.
"Hey! Quit mackin' on the poor girl so she can get us some damn drinks!" Bobo hollers to us. I turn to make my way behind the bar. I don't get too far when Dillon smacks my ass before taking a seat at the bar with the rest of the men. I shoot him a playful glare.
"You know Bobo, if you were any other man I would smack you for that comment." I tell him with a smile so he knows I'm giving him shit.
"Oh you know I was just messin' with ya, darlin'." He says giving me his best smile.
"Of course, you're my favorite customer." I tell him, handing him his beer.
"See that Hunt. Don't go feeling special." One of the other guys says, giving Dillon hell. He just smiles and shakes his head.
"Eh I know she's just telling you what you want to hear." He says. He points his finger at each of them, "She's mine."
Some put their hands up in surrender and the others just laugh.
