"I understand," He stated, heaving a sigh. "What? I heard you say it right. You understand me, so we were both drunk and nothing happened between us. We all know that we had fun however, the sun is out now, shining brightly, I will get going now, we do not want to waste each other's time," I narrated.
I attempted to pass by him, but his arms blocked the way, "Why are you suddenly acting this way, Lady Marie," My forehead creased, "What? Stop calling me that," He chuckled.
"Once again, I apologize, I was drunk last night, I couldn't even remember what happened and how I was brought here, and I thank you for that for providing me a nice room," I smiled, "You are very much welcome," He suddenly raised my hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing the back of my palm.
I could feel stars twinkling around him; I really need to stop drinking, or it will only bring danger to my life. "I caused you too much trouble, it's discourteous of me to be here even though we only met once, forgive me. As I said before, I will take my leave, Noble Schleswig," I lowered my head subtly, "Are you sure that yesterday was our first encounter?"
I turned around, "For you, it may be, but in my case, it's not," He bluntly stated, "What?"
He picked up his jacket from the floor and dusted it off, "Don't mind what I said, moreover, do you really not remember anything yesterday? Anything at all?" He marched forward, interrogating me. I smiled awkwardly and shook my head, "No, forgive me, I must've drank to much than what my body can tolerate,"
He frustratedly breathed out, "That's not good to hear, even though I remember everything we did, you forgot about it. It's such a shame," He leaned closer, as he continued to cave in, I quickly shifted and slipped past by him, "Forgive me, once again, Noble Schleswig, this is all because of the alcohol's influence,"
I cannot let him get close to me. The more he approaches me, the more abnormal my heart feels different. As if I have been running a marathon, I am afraid that my suspicion about him will turn out to be true.
"Why do you want to run away?" He calmly questioned, "Is it just because of your memory? If that is the case, I can help you remember all of it, every detail, minor or major, I remember it all," He gently slipped his hand on my waist.
As he guided me to the waist, resulting me to sleep on his lap, "We met at the ball last night, you were the first one who approached me while I was taking a breather," He started, "You made the first move, kissing on suddenly and flirted with me after,"
"Hey there, handsome," I walked towards a gentleman who leaned across the deck, "I never thought that someone as good looking as you would be here. I can never forget a face like this, yours is an unforgettable one," My hands glided along his sharp jawline.
"Do you know how good looking you are?" He strangely looked at me from the side, "You look handsome, dearest Noble," No words came out from his mouth.
Instead, his hands slowly reached out for mine, "I am afraid that you must've drank too much, Lady Rabellino," Wearing a shocked expression, I scoffed "It's an honor for you to know me. Pleasure to meet you, Lady Eva Maria Del Mar Rabellino," Extending my hands, he rolled his eyes, reciprocating the handshake.
"I think you would look better when you're in my arms," I pulled him into a hug, but the man released me after, "You should call for your chaffeur, Lady Rabellino, you are drunk," He eyed me from top to bottom.
I laughed out and playfully slapped his arm, "I can still drink a few more rounds, I'm not drunk," I retorted and inched closer; I placed my head on his shoulder, resting. "You smell nice, let's stay like this for a while,"
I soon felt him patting my back after minutes passed, he released me from his grasp, "I'll take my leave, Lady Rabellino," Before he could leave, I grabbed his arm once again, as soon as our faces neared further, I kissed him deeply, "As expected, you look better in my arms."
As I remembered what happened the last night, my face grew bright red, "I suppose we should talk this out," I shoved him away from me and stepped out from his lap, "All right, let us talk,"
The man grabbed his jacket and draped it on my shoulder; soon, servants entered the room, preparing breakfast on the table. All I could think of this time was to run away from the situation. The Noble brewed his tea in front of me.
"This will help you for the hangovers," He pushed the cup forward, "You shouldn't drink too much especially if your body can't handle its intensity,"
As I lifted the cup to my mouth drinking tea, his handheld mine, intertwining them. "Why did you approach me last night?" I stopped drinking and placed the cup back on the saucer, "You must have a specific reason in mind. Moreover, even if you're drunk you can still have a sense of rationality, so tell me, why did you approach me?"
It seems like I have no choice but to lie; I cannot say that I did not plan to approach him, and it was only because of alcohol; in the first place, he is the first man I do not want to get involved with.
"Nikolaos Alexios Schleswig, you are one of the wealthiest bachelors in the land, and I like you for that," His forehead creased, "I'm telling you I like you because of your background," I bluntly replied.
Instead of getting angry, the man laughed out, almost crying out of joy, "I have a very good background, indeed, so does that mean-" He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him, "Do you really like me that much?"
