"Do you not have work for today?" I questioned, he stopped brushing my hair; he released me from his grasp as we met eye to eye, "I told Aris to take care of everything while I'm gone, I can't leave you by yourself," He averted his gaze as he continued to brush my hair.
"You should've left when you woke up," I suggested, leaning forward, pressing the man, "I told you, I can't leave you alone," He replied sternly.
No one spoke after until I took a deep breath, "So, you're saying that you don't have today's rest and you're skipping your work because of me?" He nodded, "That's right,"
I playfully slapped his shoulder, "You're skipping work?!" I historically raised, looking at the time, it was already nine in the morning, "Yes," I composed myself, trying to calm down.
"This won't do! Get dressed properly and go to work, also send me home!" I demanded; the man just chuckled and started walking towards the door, "All right, I'll wait for you at the front," As he left, I took a deep breath.
After waiting for several minutes, a servant entered, guiding me towards the front where a carriage stood with Alexios standing in front of it. We entered as the Noble assisted me inside the carriage.
"Lady Eva," He called my name, "Yes, Noble Schleswig?" I turned to him.
"Can you call me by my name?" He awkwardly lowered his head, "What?" I could not understand what he meant by that? Name? Does he mean?
"Yes, my name, I am already calling you by your name, you should do it also," He had a flustered look on his face, "Can you call my name from now on?"
Why does he look embarrassed when I am the one who is supposed to be flustered because of his cute gestures? "Oh, all right," It seems like I have no choice, given how persistent this man is. In the first place, how did his personality turn out to be different from what I have heard of and expected him to be? "You can call me, Alex," His face turned bright as he continued.
He looks adorable; this man turned out to be all shy and bubbly. I will try to avoid him as possible not to get caught up in any scandals, but I should not let him notice that I will eventually break up with him.
"Are you tired?" He asked as he held my hand, intertwining our fingers, "Yes, it was not a first for me to sleep outside my residence, but it's a first for me to sleep at a gentleman's. That's why I want to rest and go home,"
Deep inside, I already wish that once he drops me outside our residence, he will not look for me and disappear, as if we never met. "I'll take you home so you can rest, we should've stayed in my residence if you felt ill," He grabbed my hand tighter, "Please go straight, let's first take the Lady home," He instructed the coachmen.
As expected, he knows where I live, given that the House of Rabellino, I will not be shocked that he knows the location of our residence. "You can visit the House of Schleswig if you have time, I didn't have the chance to show you our abode," He suggested, "No one is staying at the residence, you can stay over as long as you'd like,"
He then leaned closer, "You can also sleep in my room, it's spacious than an average room." I only slept in a guest room based on the interior of the room I had been earlier; the man then held my head, helping me lean on his shoulder, "I'll wake you up when we get there, you can rest,"
The man patted my head as the carriage continued to take me back home; his thigh may be firm and stiff with all the muscles, but it felt comfortable leaning my head on it. Soon after, I felt the carriage come to a stop. "Are we here?" I voiced out, as I rubbed my eyes, "Yes, it was about five minutes ago," My forehead creased.
Looking out, I saw that we were already in front of our gates, "You should've woke me up earlier," I immediately stood up and exited as the man followed; I saw Foivi dashing towards me, "My Lady," She lowered her head as soon as she saw me with the Noble.
"Greetings, Lady Rabellino, Noble Schleswig," She bowed down, "Perhaps would you like to have some tea-" Before she could finish, I cut her off, standing in front of her.
"Thank you for last night, Noble Schleswig," I started to push him back to the carriage, "Eva-" I shut the door close and smiled, waving.
"Please take him to work, thank you," The carriage moved, with the man looking at me towards the mirror; I just smiled at him and waved bye as they disappeared in the distance, "My Lady," She voiced out.
Entering the Household, I immediately went to my bedroom, laying down flat at my bed, "I'm finally home," I groaned, "Lady Rabellino, do you feel unwell?" As she questioned, I sat straight up and looked at her.
"Forgive me, you must've slept up all night waiting for me. Did the Master-Servant say anything about me missing?" She shook her head, "No, I told him that you were already sleeping, I made sure to not let anyone know that you were out last night," I took a deep breath.
Thankfully, Foivi can cover me up anytime, but there will not be a time where we will eventually be exposed, "It's the first time you slept out with a man, to add to it, it's Noble Schleswig, is something going on between the two of you?" I shook my head, "Nothing, I just happened to pounce on him while I was drunk but nothing happened," I assured her.
"Nothing is going on between the two of us," She then went silent and looked at me, "Oh, the dress, just send someone to take the dress back from the House of Schleswig, a servant helped me out of the dress since the Noble doesn't want me to go out wearing the same dress," Foivi seems to be misunderstanding the situation.
