"Whatever your decision is, I will still abide to your choices. Don't worry, if you plan to have a child, I will treat them will full of adoration and love," As he continued his statement, my head lowered in shame, "Eva? Is something wrong?" Alexios suddenly stretched out his hand, lifting my face, and pinned me against the wall.

I was caught off guard as my back hit the concrete, making a thud; however, I could not feel any pain; it seemed like the man had controlled himself. He clasped our fingers together, the gentleman's breath hit my face.

Alexios moved his body forward and said, "Raise your head, and look at me," It sounded more like a demand from him; I could not dare to even glance at the Noble, I could not speak and move as he caged me in his arms, "Eva," His voice softened.

Before my guilt could swallow me whole, I pushed him several times until I successfully distanced myself away from Alexios. "Noble Schleswig," I called out his name respectfully, "Forgive me," He stood there waiting and stunned, anticipating for more.

I looked in his direction with eyes like a pond full of affection; I reached out a hand, gently touched Alexios' face, caressing it carefully. I wonder how much pain he had to endure to come this far?

He expresses his desire to be different from his father and ensure that his child will never go through what he has experienced before. How can you expect me to push him away after hearing his remarks?

My decision has come to an end, and I will love this man with all my heart and soul at this very moment and forever, even if he later leaves me for another Lady or meets another Lady who is more significant than me.

I drew closer for an embrace. I do not want him to have to deal with another person abandoning him. I do not want him to be lonely, even if it is only for a short while. This time, I want to be by his side. Moreover, as with what he does, I will not care about the others; it does not matter because we are together.

I will agree with what he said before; if others view us as wrong, he will not care; even if it takes us to be wrong, it would be fine for him as long as we have each other. My heart thumped faster and faster.

"You won't ever be like your Father, I assure you," My hands wrapped around his neck as he pulled me closer, "You have me and I have you,"

I never knew that a warm hug could ease all my worries away. My doubts and second thoughts disappeared like a bubble as our skin touched. "I feel tired," Walking for hours, dancing around the halls, and standing for a minute hugging each other, all of it must have taken a toll on my body, "I might not attend the ceremony if we keep ourselves up, let's rest now, Alexios,"

What drained me the most was all the talking we did. "All right," He soon led me to the front as a carriage waited for me, "Don't overwork yourself, I will pick you up tomorrow at your estate. This day did a number to us, take care,"

The day of the engagement ceremony finally came; I expected everyone to be on their busy footing, but not this busy. Even Lady Vasilas directed my servants on what I should wear. She seemed like a Mother preparing her daughter for a debutante ball.

"Don't you think that hairpin would look better on Lady Rabellino?" She pointed out the pink hair accessory; even with all the errands that were going around, she still had the authority on the floor, "What do you think, Eva?"

This Lady is indeed similar to Alexios on everything; it creeps me out; no wonder they are cousins. She even looks more beautiful today. I can understand why Lord Demeas is chasing after this alluring Lady.

"Anything would do, Lady Vasilas," I smiled; she kept pointing out accessories that she said that will look good on me, "What?" For a second, her sharp gaze pierced my heart; did I perhaps offend her?

"I mean- I will love any thing that you will choose, you have a great style, of course, it will suit me," I retorted, "Of course, you are too attractive to say it in words-" Before the Lady could even finish her sentence, someone cut her off.

"What are you doing?" A menacing aura emerged from the corner, "Alexios, when did you get here?"

He proceeded towards us, but he did not look at me; instead, Lady Vasilas and the Noble continued to exchange dagger stares. I felt a bolt of lightning strike from both sides, and it was uneasy between them.

Alexios must have felt it and soon looked at me, "Eva, are you finished getting ready?" He asked, nodding and smiling. "Yes, Lady Vasilas assisted me today," I replied.

"Is that so?" He questioned, his gaze returning to her; if stares could kill, both of them would be dead right at the moment. "How does it fit? Does it suit well on me?" I rose and grabbed Alexios' hand, dragging him to the mirror, breaking the tension between them.

He kept quiet for a moment and averted his gaze, "Why? Don't you like it?" He took a deep breath as I glanced at him, "Of course not, I am barely holding myself back against you. It is only the beginning of our enagement ceremony,"

"And?" I teased him, leaning forward, but the man kept taking his steps back, "You look ravishing," Could it be that because we are in front of each other, or perhaps in front of Lady Vasilas that he is being embarrassed and shy.

It feels different from his usual demeanor personality; I then noticed that they were staring at each other once again. I cannot still break them apart even if I directed his attention towards me.
