A Plead Of Affection

Eva's Father, Jaime Javier Rabellino, became the youngest Noble ever to present himself in front of the Count of Kraven; in the olden days, the Count and Noble Rabellino always had each other's back when it came to prestige and stature. He is a great man who swore loyalty not only to his friend but to the whole County of Kraven, which he always sees as his responsibility that primarily concerns the House of Rabellino.

"My Lady, are you frightened?" Foivi questioned me as she brushed my hair, "No," I confidently answered, but in truth, my hands trembled under the vanity.

My gaze turned into the family picture that sat across the desk; it was the picture of the four of us. Mother was always out together with my older brother, Noble Neizan Asier Del Mar Rabellino. They took care of everything outside of Ylury.

Lady Ana Isabel Del Mar Rabellino dominated the Hierarchy as one of the diamonds of the first waters. Despite suitors and lovers that could give her a better life than what the Rabellino could give, she still chose Father. Mother was known for her unconventional approach to charity work.

Mother was the opposite of Father, who had anger issues and was always grumpy. The Noble would always describe the Lady as someone too pure to live as to what he compares himself to as a hot-headed person who had a hard time expressing what he felt.

We were always a perfect family, however, with Mother not around, I can always say that Father was always mad. I could feel chills run down my spine. My Mother spoiled me that led me to do all I wanted, I partied and did everything I wanted, but after meeting Cassiopeia, I changed.

"Put this on," I gazed down and saw an earing that was passed to the House of Rabellino as an heirloom over several generations; it was made of pure ruby, "Thank you,"

Leaving my chamber, I already saw the Master-Servant looking at me from afar, "The Noble Rabellino is with the Noble Schleswig at the Drawing Room," He reported, as I was guided to the room, I could feel my heart thumping so fast as if I ran a marathon, "I have Alex with me," I mumbled to myself.

Knocking three times and entering, I noticed how high the tension was in the room, "I, Eva Maria Del Mar Rabellino, greet you Father, Noble Schleswig," I subtly bowed, "Take your seat, Maria," Father sat in the opposite direction while Alexios and I sat beside each other.

Father glared at us, making me move to the farthest side, "Greetings, Noble Andrianos Rabellino, it is my pleasure to introduce myself, I am Nikolaos Alexios of the House of Schleswig," He lowered himself, showing respect to Father, "No wonder you look like your old man," Father commended.

As Father took a sip of the tea and slowly placed it back to the saucer, his eyes directed towards the man who sat in his opposite, "To what do I owe this visit, Young Schleswig?" He questioned, assessing the man in front of him. "Lady Rabellino and I are in a certain situation and it is quite serious," He started.

Why did this have to happen? My heart feels as if it is coming out of my ribcage. "Eva," The moment Father called out my name, "How long have you known the Young Schleswig?" His eyes fixated on me.

"Is it long enough for him to come all the way here knowing that our family has a deep history with them?" Both of us at the moment fell stoned, "I- It's not how it actually happened-" He interrupted me from talking.

"Exactly, you know how serious things may happen if you get involved with them. Even so, how did you let it happen?" I lowered my head with no replies in mind, "Noble Rabellino, I promise, she will only get the best that I can offer, she deserves the world and I can provide her the best environment,"

Father scoffed, "Are you saying that the Residence of the Rabellino's is not a suitable environment for her?" Alexio instantly shook his head, "No, however, I am confident enough to say that the House of Schleswig can provide the best for Lady Rabellino."

After moments of silence, the Noble Rabellino laughed out like a madman that sent shivers down my spine, "The House of Schleswig?" He continued laughing, "Do you think my child can live her best freely at your estate?"

Alexios proudly nodded, "I am a proud Noble and is recognized in the land as a competent gentleman." He then stood up and lowered himself, "I would like to take Lady Eva Maria Del Mar Rabellino as my wife!"

Even I was left in shock; this is not what I expected; I only agreed to stay with him until he finds someone to stand by his side whom he can call his true love; how come all the responsibilities befall me?

"I would like to do that as soon as possible however-" He composed himself and stood straight, "I know that the Noble Rabellino is against me given that I am from a rival House, and it would also make Lady Rabellino uncomfortable to marry me in instance without knowing me deeply."

What does he plan to do? I cannot comprehend what was going around the scene, "The only way I can get your blessings is to prove not only to Lady Rabellino but also to you, Noble Rabellino that I am worthy to marry your beloved child," As if it was on cue, entered on the Drawing-Room was servants who brought chests and one with a bouquet of roses, "I want to formally court Lady Eva Maria Del Mar Rabellino,"

At that moment, for a split second, in an instance, I forgot how this man brought several clans to surrender in order to get what he wanted. Even if it causes ruination, this gentleman vows to do everything as long as he gets what he wants.
