Alexios came home at midnight; he could not wait any longer as the carriage paved its way towards the Lodge. As he did not want to disturb the Lady any longer, he thought to only peek into the door and go to his bedroom.
As the carriage stopped in the front, his restlessness eased as soon as he got off, feeling the whirl of the wind touch his bare face. "Noble Scheswig," The Master-Servant greeted the man with respect, "How's Eva?" A question first came out of his mouth.
"She has been in your chambers since half nine, it appears that she's fast asleep," He replied, walking towards the hallways, "We've have got our hands on the newly imported tea from the west, shall I prepare you some?"
"Tea?" He raised, "Yes, I heard Lady Rabellino has a liking for tea leaves and it had just arrived earlier,"
He shook his head, "I'll just ring a servant if I need something," Alexios replied, walking towards their chambers, only to see a well-dimmed room. However, seeing her from afar could not suffice the emotions he felt, "Eva," He mumbled, caressing her face, tucking the strands away from her face.
He walked himself out and made his way to the corridors, he should sleep in his bedroom if he did not want to disturb the Lady in her sleep, but before he could turn left, disappearing from the hallways, someone called him, getting his full attention.
"Eva," Immediately, he ran to her, removing his jacket, draping it on her shoulders, "I thought you were asleep, you should be asleep by now, it's midnight."
His forehead creased, "Why are you wearing your nightgown, you're even running around the hallways? You must be cold with all this thin layer of clothing." He said, hugging her and granting her a kiss on her forehead, "I could barely sleep. Moreover, as soon as I heard your voice, I woke up. It seems like I can't fall asleep without you anymore."
"The Master-Servant told me that you were sleeping already so I only planned to look at you but I couldn't help but go near you for the least," Eva chuckled, "Oh, speaking of the Master-Servant, I heard that we got our hands on the newly imported tea from the west."
"Would you like a cup of tea? I want to prepare it for you." The Lady offered, "Yes, I do. I would love to."
Lady Rabellino started to brew the tea as the man waited for her to finish, "Is the boiling water too noisy? I hope we don't wake the servants up." Alexios just scoffed, "They won't wake up, I'm sure of it," Somehow, a sinister smile formed on his face, immediately disappeared as soon as their eyes met.
She then served tea, "Have you eaten?" Eva inquired, "I already had my fill at a dinner with other Nobles,"
Sipping the tea she prepared, the man raised his head, "Are you perhaps cold?" She asked once again, "Yes, quite."
Finishing up the tea, they came back to their chambers, this time, together. Eva waited for the man to finish up, and as she waited, her eyelids started to close. The sleepiness that she felt earlier started to take over her body as she felt at ease with Alexios beside her.
Just getting out of the shower, the Noble walked towards her and gently laid beside the Lady, "Come here," He muttered, hugging her close as their bodies touch, "Let's stay like this for a while, I will leave soon early in the morning," He said to the Lady making her head raised, looking at him.
"Someone caused trouble making us work overtime, I'm mad that I do not spent much time with you," Alexios complained in anger, "You don't know how much I have been containing myself. I want to hold you in my arms, kiss you, and go further," He sighed in frustration; on the other hand, his statement only made Lady Rabellino blush.
Eva stood up in preparation to avoid, "Don't worry, I will not try anything," He assured the Lady pulling her back to bed, "Even if I am betraying my inner desires, I love you and I respect you. I will not do anything unless you grant me permission."
"I love you too, Alexios," He then froze in bed, "Why, is something wrong?" Eva voiced out.
"No, nothing is wrong, it felt strangely addicting hearing you confess your love," He averted his gaze for a second and took it back to her, "Let's sleep, I feel tired, and I know you are too." They laid back on the bed, close to each other.
"Would it be fine if I ask for a goodnight kiss, Eva?" With red cheeks, the Lady nodded and closed her eyes, granting permission for the Noble, "Thank you,"
Ending the kiss with a hug, Eva came to question, "Do you feel unwell, Alexios?" He sighed deeply, "Yes, I apologize, I must be spreading my negative energy to you."
She shook her head, "No, it's fine. Seeing you sad makes me sad as well. I support everything that you will do, and I won't get in your way, just promise me to take care of yourself," Lady Rabellino stated, "You don't have to worry, I can take care of myself. You, Eva is what worries me the most."
After hugging and staying there for hours, Alexios stood up and took a deep breath and breathed out loudly, "Eva, thinking just now makes me want to speed up the wedding preparations," He went back to bed and hugged her tightly, "I want to be with you, be a family with you, build and have a family with you at the earliest conviennience,"
His words were more than what Eva asked for, but it was enough for Alexios to prove his worth to the Lady on how much he loved her and assurance that he would keep loving her in the past, present, and future.
