He pulled me close, intertwining our fingers, "Lord Demeas, I beg your pardon. May I ask, what made you harrass someone's wife to be, and pinning her to the wall at that extend?" He questioned Lord Demeas, "Lady Rabellino knows something, and just now, this is a matter involving the House of Demeas, and I cannot leave something like this-" Before the man could finish his statement.

"Honorable Lord of the County of Crubet," There appeared Lady Vasilas, who shined in the crowds, "Are you all right?"

"N- Ninia!" His eyes widened in shock, "Goodness, you need to come with me,"

The Lord doubted for a moment, "No need to fret, you can come with me." The Lady offered her hand; this time, with no hesitation, he grabbed her hand and dragged the both of them out. The crowd soon dispersed, "Forgive me, I left you," He slowly caressed my face as if I was a delicate and fragile object.

"I am fine and well, nothing wrong happened," I assured him, "I am glad to hear that, things are all and well,"

"Let us go home-" Before he could finish his statement, "She cannot some home with you!" I could hear Father's strong remark.

"Pardon?" He turned around and looked back, "Noble Schlesiwg, during this time, my daughter had just been engaged, and I am not the typical Father who would send her child to her betrothed after her engagement," He retorted.

"I will send her to the House of Rabellino's residence," Father added, "Noble Rabellino," I noticed how his face loomed into disappointment; I can feel how he was against Father's decision.

"Maria, are you all right, My Child?" Mother slowly held my hand; I smiled and nodded, "Yes, I am. I thank the Noble Schleswig and Lady Vasilas for their concern and care,"

"You might be wondering why I cannot do so, however, it is unacceptable for me, you still cannot act as one of her legal family members," His head raised with that, "If so, then I must marry your daughter as soon as possible,"

He took a deep breath, "Really! Youngsters now days thinks that all would go there way if they do it at the earliest conviennience, but it is not the case for me." He countered, "I could even barely give you away to you, Noble Schleswig, and now, that bastard- that Lord dares to threathen and harrass my child!"

I could see my Father's vein popping out from his face and neck, "Father," I went in his direction, holding his arm to calm and compose himself down, "What?!" It seems like the scene was too shocking, but as he saw my face, he took a deep breath and calmed down.

"Remember this, Young Schleswig, I still hav not gave you my blessing to marry Maria!" Mother then stepped forward, "She still has no ring, dearest, you are overreacting," The Lady chuckled and bowed slightly, apologizing for her husband's reaction.

Alexios smiled awkwardly, "Father, the Noble Schleswig sent a letter to the House of Rabellino saying that we are officially engaged, you cannot say such things otherwise," I stated to the man, "What do you mean letter?"

"Noble Schelswig, you wrote back and told me that you were happy to hear such news," His forehead creased, "What?!" As if he could not believe what he was saying, the man yelled.

"Who wrote the letter-" Mother then laughed, "I did it behind your back because I know you will not let her go," She explained, sighing.

"If you would have received the letter, Eva would not likely marry anyone because of your standards in men, and because of it, that is why I sent the letter in your stead," She added, explaining the situation, "What?! You should have at least informed me!"

"Rest assured, dearest," Mother patted the Noble's back and smiled, "There is no need to worry; in fact, of all the suitors who tried to marry our Dear Maria, Noble Schleswig here is the best husband our child could find," She said,

"You do not know how Maria feels; as I said earlier, there is no better husband than the Young Schleswig." She pursued Father, "Be it about his wealth, power and influence, or name, he is not someone who we can find in the sides."

Father composed himself and faced Alexios, "Noble Schleswig, do not dare hurt my daughter. You do not know how precious she is to the family!" He raised, "Jaime, Maria said that she loves the man, stop treating her like a child! She already debuted in the society and is now a Lady that is soon to be married,"

"Noble Schleswig already proved himself to me, sending us gifts and fulfilling his promises." Mother added, "You were much more impulsive that this man here when we first met,"

Father averted his eyes and coughed, "Well, that is for another story," Mother walked toward Alexios, "I apologize in behalf of my husband," She smiled and held his hand.

"It is fine, Lady Rabellino, I understand why the Noble Rabellino is protective of your daughter," Alexios smiled at Mother and headed towards me, holding my hands and showing it in front of my family, "Forgive me for being impulsive and please rest assured, I will protect her. I will make sure that no harm will ever come to her!"

"I mean it!" He lowered himself, bowing deeply to my Father, Mother, and Brother, "You are responsible for everything that will happen from now on with my sister, and also, do not apologize, I already accepted you for my sister," It was unusual for my Brother to say such things.

"You do not have to apologize anymore," Brother patted his shoulder, making Alexios stand straight, "Father, blaming Noble Schleswig would change nothing, Maria is the one who made the first move and their love is between them, we have no rights to intrude in their relationship,"

We all know that we will continue to be exposed to further danger if we continue to stay at each other's side, "You will stay together, that is the right thing to do," Brother stated, smiling at me.
