"He will take care of you, Lord Demeas, please explain your situation to him and they will do everything for you," He added, "Now then, if you'll excuse me. I will see you later, My Lord," He lowered himself and entered the chamber, only to see Eva, who had her back facing him as she looked outside the office window.

"Alex," The Lady turned around, looking at him with a bright smile, "Oh, yes, you're still here, Eva," He chuckled bitterly.

"Are you finally finished with work?" He could not answer first. Instead, he pulled her in for a hug, "Yes and I hope you help me recharge my energy," The man snuggled on her neck.

Eva could not help but hug him back; he could feel that the Noble needed healing more than anyone, "Did something happen?" The Lady asked, letting him go, "I feel anxious without you," His statement was enough to make her sigh depressingly.

Just as he was about to lean close, the wind blew all the compiled papers in his desk. Eva forgot that she opened a small window as she was observing the scene outside. Just like how everything was fated and bound to happen, a letter fell before her with no divine intervention.

In bold letters, revealed the words NOTICE OF DISPATCH. Slowly picking the paper cup, the words encoded soon came to view. "What's the meaning of this?" The Lady questioned the man who had a shocked expression on his face, "That's-" He fell silent when she turned the paper towards his face.

This must be the reason why they called you out urgently," Eva said to him with a questioning look, "This concerns the casualties and damages throughout the County of Krubet. The Lady directly faced him, "Tell me, what's the matter?" She questioned, "This is not a situation where we can run off to flee from these things. I must go, there is not choice," He patted her head.

"Where? Are you going to somewhere dangerous?" Eva continued to interrogate the man; she could not help but to worry, "I must leave for Krubet." His statement made the Lady shut her mouth.

It was an order from the Court, conducting such operations was never known to the both of them. It was investigating a systemic and formal inquiry, looking into facts of incidents, exploring, discovering, and examining allegations to establish the truth to build an assurance with the people.

A mission, especially at the time of the year, not only will be challenging, but the season will also be their enemy. Particularly with Nobles that are not good with the cold, namely, Alexios. Every step they take would be difficult due to the cold front of the weather.

"That means-" Eva stopped her sentence, "Yes, I shall be leaving the day after tomorrow, and from that I will not be seeing you for two weeks in minimun, I will be gone for a month or so," He looked at the Lady with a distressed face.

"Can I come along?" She initiated an offer, "I'm worried that you'll leave me and go off to some terrain that you're not familiar with,"

After hearing what she stated, his eyes widened. To Alexios, everything Eva said seemed like exquisite music. The fact that the Lady was concerned about his well-being was music to his ears. However, he must not allow his greed and want to override what is good.

He could bring the Lady along because he is secure in his ability to defend Eva at any cost, and he also has the skills to protect her in a dangerous situation. Even still, a Ladylike her was far too deadly to be him. He should stop overthinking things and rationalize the best course of action.

He smiled bitterly; Alexios caressed her face gently, "I would love to bring you by my side, I do not want to get separated also. Nevertheless, I would be at ease to know that you are in a place where I know that you arealive and well." He straight up told the Lady, rejecting her that instance, "You're also not familiar with such operation even if you'd heard of it. These are not something a Lady like you should do. You should stay at my residence, the Master-Servant will take care of you."

As a woman of high social standing and aristocratic birth, Eva was not only kept warm and clothed but she was also kept safe from harm from others. Alexios could sense her desperation in her eyes, but she will not be able to sway him this time. He would rest well, knowing she was well fed, clothed, and kept warm.

He then cleared his throat easing the tension inside the room, "Let's stop the talking for now, both of us haven't eaten our lunches yet, so for now, let's eat," Alexios extended his hand, with Eva accepting it with no hesitation, "I understand, we're both starving after all." Going out, Alexios made sure that Lord Demeas could not be seen.

As they walked out of the Courthouse and towards a neighbouring restaurant, he first peered outdoors. Alexios vowed that everything unsightly would be hidden from Eva. She must only perceive the beautiful things in life.

Everything will go according to plan as long as anything he does not like is buried away in the dark, and Eva is unaware of it. Right, it should not be discovered by any means; no one will be able to take away the love for which he has worked so hard and craved.
