The next time Mia woke up, the sun had risen fully. It was about midday, and the corridors of the hospital sounded much livelier than before. The red eyes were nowhere to be seen.

The girl sat up slowly in her bed, feeling more energetic than last night. She lifted the covers, wanting to check the damage of her wound. The arrow was gone, and a massive white bandage covered the right side of her torso. There was a little bit of blood soaked through it, but otherwise it didn't look that bad.

The door to her room opened and Allison tip-toed inside, grimacing when the door creaked loudly. She was trying to be quiet, a coffee cup in her hand, oblivious that her sister was already awake.

"I'm alive," Mia announced suddenly, enjoying the way Allison almost jumped out of her skin, trying to save her coffee from spilling all over the floor.

"God–" she placed it on the side table and rushed over to the bed, "I'm so glad you're okay, I can't believe what I did, I'm so sorry, I will completely understand if you don't forgive me, ever, and I'll happily let you shoot me too if that'll make you feel better–"

"Hey, breathe," Mia chuckled, tensing up when a slight jab of pain went through her side. Despite what had happened, she didn't feel any anger towards her sister. She couldn't. "It wasn't your fault. Kate was manipulating you, she was tricking all of us. You thought what you were doing was for the safety of others. It's okay."

"It's not," Allison shook her head, her eyes filling with tears. She pulled Mia into a tight hug, careful not to disturb her injury, "I'm so, so sorry. I'll never hurt you again, I promise."

At that time, her father popped his head into the room. He looked tired, the dark circles under his eyes more visible than usual, but his face lit up at the sight of his two daughters. "Hey, you're finally awake. How do you feel?"

"Tired," Mia replied honestly, her sister letting her go to give her space, "But also happy to be back. Did they say when I can go home?"

"If you feel okay, then tomorrow," her dad replied, "But you should try to get as much rest as possible. The arrow didn't touch any of your organs, but you still lost a lot of blood."

Mia noticed Allison's face crack with guilt, so she smiled at her playfully, "You really are a good shot. Thanks."

The next morning, she convinced the doctors to let her go home. Despite some lasting pain and fatigue, she felt fine enough to leave. Her dad came to drive her home.

"Hey, dad," she said as she was packing up her things, "We need to talk."

Chris sighed, "I know. We can do it in the car, honey."

As they exited the hospital room, Mia noticed Scott and Stiles loitering around the corner. Stiles noticed her first, and jumped up from his chair, shaking Scott awake. The two boys looked ecstatic to see her. It warmed Mia's heart - she didn't expect them to care about her wellbeing that much.
