(for the sake of my sanity i will pretend that the whole part about Derek creepily convincing Erica to join his pack didn't happen. Derek was abused as a teen himself, like why would you write a whole ass scene of him (a full on adult) being creepy towards a teenage girl?? that was really bad writing and bad characterization, so for this fanfic let's pretend he was a normal person and just invited her normally ok? thanks anyway enjoy)

After making sure Isaac was okay, Mia returned home.

It was already dawn when she snuck back into her house, praying to avoid any family members until she was ready. She especially didn't want to see Gerard, but she knew she had to come home eventually - all her things were here, and she couldn't exactly live in an underground bunker with two werewolves.

After a shower and a change of clothes, Mia came down to train with her father before school. She hoped he would be there per usual, despite her having left before, but she was surprised to find Allison there. Her sister was already waiting by the training mat, looking tired and sulky. Mia remembered asking her dad to train them together, but she didn't realize it would happen that soon.

"Good morning," she announced her presence cautiously, walking up to her sister, "Are you okay?"

Allison side-eyed their father, who was busy talking to someone on the phone, and muttered, "He kidnapped me in the middle of the night, scared me to death and then made me cut myself out of my ties with an arrowhead. It took me two and a half hours."

Mia's heart sank with empathy. Wanting to cheer up her sister, she nudged her, "Hey, that's impressive. That one was my least favorite. It's really boring and takes way too long on your first try."

"How long did it take you?" Allison blinked, curious.

Mia smirked at her, popping her shoulder playfully, "Two hours."

"Are we going to turn this into a competition too?" Allison grinned, looking better now. Mia already knew what answer she wanted to hear.

"Yeah, of course," she nodded, "If you can even catch up, that is."

Allison scoffed dramatically, "Oh, you're on."

They took their places on the mat, getting into the right stances. Mia raised her fists up and let herself relax a little, knowing she could at least make this hell easier for her sister.

They sparred for a while, guiding Allison through the basics. Mia enjoyed combat lessons the most - it was a great way to release any pent up stress and emotion, and teaching Allison held a sense of purpose. By the end of their training, sweaty and exhausted, her muscles aching, Mia felt better.

Allison went upstairs to shower and get ready for school. Taking the opportunity of privacy, Mia turned to her father.

"I thought we agreed to ease Allison into this."
