Mia was jolted awake by hushed whispers and the feeling of fabric on her skin. Her vision was pitch black; there was a bag over her head. A pair of hands grabbed her arms and another one dragged her out of bed by her legs.

Reality kicking in, Mia started screaming. She could tell she was still in her bedroom, so she was pleading that someone would hear her, although she knew her parents weren't home and Allison's room was on the other side of the house. One of the kidnappers quickly pressed a hand over her mouth. She felt a sharp pain in her side. Someone had kicked her.

The two people carried her struggling body outside, bound her hands and threw her in a car. As it surged into motion, she tried to regulate her breathing and focus on an escape plan. She felt around as much as she could, realizing they had put her in the trunk.

"Stupid assholes," she was muttering to herself, trying to let out some of her anger the only way she knew how.

After tracing the walls of the trunk, she couldn't find any type of button or handle to open it from the inside. Then, she dragged her foot along the front of the trunk until she felt the panels of the brake lights. Taking a deep breath, Mia started kicking at the lights, hoping to knock one out. As she backed up to get more space for her legs, her hands grazed something sharp. The girl hissed in pain, but then a new idea popped into her head.

She located the sharp piece of metal that was sticking out of somewhere in the trunk, and tried to get her ropes lined up with it. The girl furiously sawed her binds on the metal, until she could break her hands free. As soon as she was done, she took the bag off her head and shuffled over to the light panel, trying to pry it open.

Her plan was to knock out the light and stick her hand out, in the hopes that someone would see it and help her. However, the car had started to shake a little, and as she listened, she realized they were driving through gravel and dirt.

They had taken her away from the town.

The car slowly pulled to a stop. Mia's heart was beating so hard she could hear it in her ears. She heard two pairs of footsteps get out of the vehicle and walk her way. The girl scooted back and braced herself.

As soon as the first person came into view, she kicked with her socked foot, aiming straight for the man's face. She hit his chest instead, but the kick was powerful enough to send him staggering backwards. Mia quickly rolled out of the trunk and tried to stand on her feet, but the second man grabbed her arms and folded them behind her back.

She finally got a good look at the first man that she kicked. His face looked familiar, and when he walked up to her again, her jaw dropped.

"Bill?" she vaguely recalled his name, "What the hell?"

Bill, one of the hunters that worked for her family, smirked at her venomously, "Wow, you're a pain in the ass."

"Didn't expect you to get free in the car, Mia," she recognized the man that was holding her as Chet, another one of the hunters.
