After a few hours of trying to figure out a place to take Derek to, Scott finally picked up his phone and told them to go to the animal clinic. Stiles hesitantly complied, and he was now pulling up to the veterinary. Mia checked on Derek, seeing if he was still alive. His eyes were closed and he hadn't said a word since Scott's call, but she could see his chest rising and falling, which was still a good sign.

Stiles killed the engine and they both got out of the jeep.

"Derek," she opened the passenger door. She was contemplating whether or not she should touch him, "Wake up."

Derek stayed still for a moment, then slowly opened his eyes. It took him a while to focus and get his bearings, but he finally nodded and moved. She stayed by his side as he stumbled out of the car, ready to steady him.

"Stop hovering," he growled at her, irritated.

"Sorry, but you look like you're about to–" Derek tripped on his own leg and fell forward, cutting Mia's sentence short as she caught him by the waist, grunting. "See? My point exactly."

"Where's the freaking key?" Stiles was mumbling, looking around the front of the building.

"Can't we go in from the back?" she suggested, "Maybe the garage door isn't locked?"

Stiles bit his lip, but nodded. He glanced at them, "Do you need help?"

"No," Derek replied and, as if to prove his point, stepped away from Mia, determined to make it on his own. "Just get us inside."

Stiles walked around the vet clinic to the back entrance, Derek and Mia following him. She still felt like she needed to help Derek and let him lean on her, since he looked like he was completely out of energy, but the man was stubborn to no end, fastening his pace.

"You're such a baby ," she murmured in astonishment, following behind.

Stiles pulled open the back entrance and turned on the light. Derek walked over to a pile of dog food bags and collapsed on top of them, catching his breath. He seemed even paler now, cold sweat running down his face. Stiles phone chimed with a text.

"Does Nordic blue monkshood mean anything to you?" he asked, turning to face Derek.

"It's a rare form of wolfsbane," Derek replied, "He has to bring me the bullet."

"Why?"

"Because I'm gonna die without it."

"It was Kate, wasn't it?" she asked out of the blue. Derek's eyes snapped to hers, "Kate shot you."

Derek hesitated, then nodded.

"Who?" Stiles raised an eyebrow at them.

"My aunt's in town," she replied with a sigh, "And believe me, she's nowhere near as nice as my dad."
