When she came to at the ice rink, everyone except Scott was gone.

"You okay?" the boy asked, helping her stand back up.

"Yeah," she nodded without thinking. Her muscles were stiff from the cold, and sharp pain was pounding through her head, but she was alive, and in these circumstances that was as good as you could be.

"Boyd's already turned," Scott sounded totally defeated.

"Shit."

Scott glanced around, fidgeting, "I promised to meet with Allison. I should probably get going."

"Wait, Scott," she stopped him, "Shouldn't we talk about what we're going to do now? I think that's kind of more important."

"We can't do anything right now," he reasoned, regarding her gently ever though he was clearly in a hurry. He sighed, "Derek made his point. We can't do anything about his pack without hurting them. And I don't even wanna think about that lizard thing..."

"Fuck," Mia groaned as they began walking, "I'm sorry. I was there when Isaac was bitten, I should've stopped him."

"It wasn't your fault," Scott shook his head, "You couldn't have stopped him even if you wanted to. He's much stronger than all of us combined now. He has a pack, and I have...Well."

"Hey," she bumped him on the shoulder comfortingly, smiling, "You have Stiles, and Allison, and I can be your double agent."

Scott seemed surprised, perking up. His reaction reminded her of a puppy, "What do you mean?"

She sighed, shrugging hopelessly, "I know I've kinda been playing all sides for awhile. I tried to be neutral because I wasn't sure who to trust, and I didn't want to believe my family could be wrong. But they are, and I think I'll be more productive in stopping all of this if I'm on your team."

Scott opened his mouth to say something grand, but then just smiled and nodded, "Thanks, Mia. I appreciate it."

It was raining outside, and Mia's clothes got soaked through in a second, but it wasn't an unwelcome experience. She had always liked rain. She texted Stiles, wanting to catch him up on what had happened, but the boy told her to meet him at the car shop.

She made her way to the destination, but when she arrived, there were already police and ambulance cars lining the parking lot.

Mia spotted Stiles sitting in an ambulance, talking to his dad. She rushed over to them, mentally noting that although the boy looked freaked, he didn't seem injured.

"What happened?" she asked the Sheriff, glancing at the shop. She couldn't see anything from the outside, only the police caution tape and officers inside.

"We're not sure yet," the Sheriff replied, patting his son on the back.

Stiles and Mia exchanged looks. The boy sighed, "I told you, I didn't see anything at all. Can I go now, please?"
