Kaleb awoke to feeling extremely warm. Instinctively he wrapped his arms tighter around her. Pressing his face into the top of her head and taking in her scent, the scent of jasmine surrounded him and he froze. He pulled away and looked to see the short ash blond hair fanned out on the pillow. It wasn't her. He laid there a minute before he realized it was Kayleigh. He propped himself up and looked down at her peaceful and calm face. A pang of pain appeared and disappeared quickly. It wasn't her but it was a mate the Goddess decided to finally give him. Reaching out he touched the back of his fingers softly against her exposed cheek. She sleepily reacted but continued to sleep. The one he thought was next to him was long gone, died before his immortality. Actually, when he thought about it, she was behind the cause of his punishment. As much as he had loved her, she was gone and he had moved on a long time ago, never planning to find a chance of a mate. After what he did and getting the punishment, it never crossed his mind they could have a chance of some form of happiness ever again. Then she got thrown into his life and caused so much to change so quickly. Anyone else would have their head spinning. She grunted, stretching out her arms and legs where ever they could go before relaxing again and sighing in relief.

"Sleep well?" I asked with a small smile.

She sleepily looked up at me in confusion then was replaced with realization once she remembered everything from the night before. A yawn took over her before she could speak.

"Still... tired..." she mumbled before snuggling tighter into me.

I chuckled. They were definitely different, and I was glad. It was entertaining having her. We were different in many ways but I had a feeling she would become a very important part of my future.

"What time is it?" she sleepily mumbled.

I turned to the clock behind me. 11:02. I had a few meetings and calls to do in a couple hours. I did not really want to deal with the ones behind the meetings but it needed done. I was talking with the other immortals, seeing if any new information had come up for them.

"11:02. I have meetings to be a part of in an hour." I informed her.

She sat up, sleepily slouching over her knees with a yawn. She was cute.

"Who do you want to have with you today?" I asked her.

She sat there dazed for a moment, processing the question before you could tell she was thinking. At this point she has met all three of them. It was just a matter of who she was going to be more comfortable with at the time. Usually, she picks the one that isn't busy with errands that day, or even can join them on an easy job. Daniel was the only one doing something that she could be helpful and not get in the way. He was going over information that has come in since her appearance. It seemed her escape stirred up the kidnappers, there was more information coming in, more than usual. That can only mean her escape made a ripple. Something that could give us the chance to strike if we can pin down who or where this pack of killers are before anything else could happen. The three of us are hoping that this will be the spiral of mistakes that will give us the chance of shutting them down.

"Um.... Probably Daniel.... Again...?" she spoke half asleep again.

"Yeah, he's going to be trying to catch up on the reports coming in on suspicious activity happening," I informed her as I pulled the sheets away.

She shivered from the cooler room temperature then looked up to me eyes squinted and lips formed into a half pout. Her eyes changed from annoyance to curious as she moved to stand up.

"Is there more than you usually get?"

She began sleepily rubbing around her eyes. A smirk pulled at the corner of my mouth before I realized it.
