It was early Monday morning and still dark out. Nick was up though and getting ready for work.

Everyone in the house was still asleep, including Molly who was in his bed. He came out of his bathroom to find the blanket wrapped between her legs and his borrowed shirt rolled up to mid-stomach.

Wishing he could crawl back underneath the covers and hold her, he sat back down on the bed.

His eyes caught the notebook and pen she had left on the nightstand hours ago before bed. He picked them both up and began to write. When he finished, he rested the note on his pillow where it waited patiently for the next hour. It read:

It's never been so hard to get out of bed in the morning.

Good morning, lovely.

Molly ran up the library stairs where she was meeting Ella and Charlie for the yearbook they were taking part in creating. Charlie volunteered last minute about a month ago, but Molly and Ella appreciated all the help they could get.

Molly made it to the lounge where they had said they would meet before their individual classes for the day began.

"Good morning," Charlie said. "Alarm clock didn't go off?"

"I brought you coffee, Mol."

"Thanks, Ella," Molly replied with big eyes. "And Charlie, my alarm wasn't the issue; there was a turkey in the road blocking me."

"No kidding," Ella laughed.

"It was smack in the middle of my lane, so, naturally, I tried to pass it in the other lane, but it moved wherever I was trying to go. Honking didn't help. It was like it wanted me to hit it."

"So what did you do?" Charlie asked, amused.

"I got out of the car."

"And it instantly got intimidated?" he asked.

"Not at first." There was a pause as she debated whether to finish her sentence. "I had to flap my arms for it to finally move."

Ella laughed instantly, but Charlie took a second to join. First, he was taking a moment to picture Molly getting out of the car, in her white turtleneck and grey knitted skirt, and beginning to flap her arms.

"I probably looked ridiculous, but it got it to go back into the woods."

"If it were someone else, they might have taken it home for dinner," he said.

"Don't say that. Greg is stubborn or just not very intelligent, but he has a family out there."

"Greg?"

"Yes. When I got out of the car, I decided to call him Greg, so it wouldn't be so weird when I called out to him."

"Yes, that would make talking to a turkey better," Charlie replied.

"Oh, shut up," Molly responded as she went to check a notification that sounded on her phone.

It was Nick. He was responding to the text she had sent him earlier.

Molly started typing a response.

"Dirty text?"

Molly looked up. "Ella, it's your turn to shut up."

"Well, something's got you smiling. I'm just curious."

"That's not a dirty text smile. That's more of a, 'what a cute puppy' smile. Right?"

Molly stared at both of them. "Guys. I am absolutely honored you're both taking so much focus on my smile and the meaning behind it. Honestly. But I think there are things more important to take note of...like the fact that you both are idiots," she continued with a calm collected tone but could resist her smile.
