"I'm telling you no. Stop looking at me like that."

"No."

"Fine, take a piece."

Molly dropped a piece of her sandwich on the grass for the dog that had been begging her for a bite.

"Just so you know, I had to wake up early to make this and I am also hungry," she told the dog as he chowed the piece down in one bite.

"Now, let's see who you belong to," she bent down and tried to get closer, but he ran away. "Seriously?" she whispered to herself.

She sat back down on the bench and continued eating at her favorite spot on campus. In front of her was an open area of grass with the exception of three large trees. These trees were famous on campus as the trees the founder planted in 1908 for the first nine graduates of the school. The trees were tall, but slouched, with hanging branches. They were beautiful in her eyes, hence she considered it her place where she could catch her breath.

When break ended and she was about to head to class, she got a message from her professor's message board announcing class was canceled. They were to read and fully understand chapters eight and nine for the next class. Fully understand was a hint that there was going to be a timed essay on whatever was in chapters eight and nine.

There was no point going home since she still had one more class for the day, so instead, she headed across campus to visit the library.

She went up the flight of stairs where she knew she could get some quiet and took out her textbook, highlighter, sticky notes, and notebook. She silenced her phone and lost track of time until she looked up at the clock in front of her. Realizing she worked through her last break of the day, she ran to her final class and made it just in time.

She sat down, breathing heavily from her sprint. Though the room was already full, her usual seat in the front row was still empty. She was relieved because it was the seat that had the least distractions and she could focus best in. Just before her professor walked in, she felt a small paper wad bounced off her head. She turned around and saw her friend waving to her. She smiled but then threw the paper ball back.

As she finally wrapped up her day, heading out of Garden Hall, she took Nick's hoodie that was wrapped around her waist and pulled it over her head. She picked up her bag again and continued to the parking lot when she heard someone calling her name. She turned around to see her friend, Charlie, running to catch up with her. He had a textbook in his hand.

"You forgot this," he said, slightly out of breath.

"Oh my gosh, thanks." In relief, she took the book he was handing her. "You just saved me a trip back here."

"How are you, Mols?"

"Never better, I'm loving this weather. You?"

"Not too bad myself and the weather's fine I guess," he laughed. "I thought you were a no-show today. Not like you to run into class last second."

"I was in the library and totally got distracted."

"Studying or..."

"Or what?"

He very smoothly explained, "well a university's library is the traditional place for two people, romantically involved, to –"

"Ah, Charlie, gross. Duncan canceled his class so I was reading his assignment."

"Of course you were," he smirked.

"Well, I think I'm going to head home, Charlie."

Her hair was pulled back in a pony, allowing a clearer view of her soft skin, naturally pink lips, and piercing eyes. He continued standing there for a few seconds before smiling awkwardly and asking, "There's this party tomorrow night, I was wondering if you'd like to go together."
