The following week, Molly was walking out of the library when she heard her name called.

"Molly."

She turned around. "Charlie, what's up?"

"Happy November."

"Happy November to you too," she said, thinking it was an odd wish, nonetheless, liked it.

"I saw you enjoyed," he said.

Her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes squinted.

"The party," he continued what he thought was obvious.

"Oh," she half-laughed, "the party. Yeah, it turned out to be fun. One was definitely enough for me but it was fun." Thanks to Nick, she thought.

"Nah, you got to come to more. Senior year has to pass somehow."

"Yes, but it will only pass if I pass."

He laughed. "I guarantee you can ace every exam, every paper, and still have a good time."

"You're right."

"Yeah?" he smirked. "So I'll see you at the next party?"

"We have different definitions of a good time, Charlie."

"Why do you always lead me on like that?"

"What do you mean?"

"Get me thinking you mean one thing but you just end up playing me." He was frowning at her as he moved his hand to his chest.

"You lost me," she frowned back innocently but was laughing on the inside. "I got to head to my car."

"I'll walk you."

"Okay."

"Pleasure?" he nodded his head toward the book she was carrying.

"No. Yes. Kind of."

"Can't even get a simple yes or no out of you."

"I will enjoy reading it, I would read it for fun, but I happen to be checking it out because I need it for further research for an article I'm writing for our paper."

"What's the article about?"

"Won't you just have to get a copy to find out," she was unable to hold back her smile this time.

They made it to the parking lot and her car was in the front row. "No insider info for a friend?"

"Against the rules, sorry," a small laugh escaped her lips. She reached for the keys in her bag and unlocked the door.

"What are you doing Friday night?"

"I got plans with my friend Nick." They weren't official plans but when she was able to get over to him on the weekends, she did. "Why?"

Liz told him about Nick, that Molly had a thing for him. He wasn't about to try and ask her out again when he was the last person she mentioned. "Just wondering..." he changed his route.

"I'm not going to another party anytime soon," she opened her car door, "if that's what you were wondering."

"I'll see you tomorrow in class," he winked at her.

"Yeah, see ya," she smiled and got in her car. She watched him walk off with his hand scratching the back of his head.

When Molly got home, she had everything she had to do written out neatly on her planner. Her notes were organized, her laptop opened, and everything was ready to go. The only thing standing in her way was herself. She couldn't bring herself to do anything.
