Maci's POV

I groaned as I woke up on a soft mattress. Last night.... what a fucking mess. Especially fighting with Al, one of our good friends. I guess that all the laughs, all the jokes, all the good times we shared was all a lie. I've never been pissed before.

"Maci? Are you okay?" I looked up and saw Four standing there with a mug.

"Like I have been run over by a train." I spoke as I took the mug and drink it, don't care what it is.

"I was glad I was there when I heard the scream." He said as he brushes a piece of hair out of my face.

"Right. I bet Tris and Seth told you." I spoke.

"They didn't." I looked at him and asked, "Oh, then how? You follow me?"

"No, I heard your screams and Ellie's yelling. I was running when I caught up with Tris and Seth." He explained.

"Okay, thank you." I smiled as I continued to drink the mug.

There was a knock on the door and walked in Seth, Ellie, and Tris as they came over to my side.

"Are you okay?" Tris asked.

"Other than my head, I'm okay." I told her.

"Let's get you something to eat. Oh, Christina is hunting you down so might wanna tame the tiger." Ellie smirked.

"Alright. We'll see you later, Four." I waved him goodbye before leaving and went to the dining hall where Christina was hugging me tightly as she told me what Seth and Tris told her.

"Look, I'm fine." I assured her.

"Still, I can't believe you almost died." Christina whimpered.

"I'm fine." I spoke.

"Let her go, Chris. She can't breathe." Will chuckled and she did.

As we were eating, Seth stood up and glared at the person who betrayed us. Al. "That's close enough. The fuck you want?" Seth demanded.

"Look, I want to apologize to Ellie and Maci, Seth." Al told him.

"Now?!" Ellie yelled as she got up. "You were supposed to be our friend! How the fuck can you do that to us?! Out of all people who would try and kill us! Why?!"

"I'm sorr-" "No, don't come closer to us! You got scared and didn't even think what would happen if you tried to kill your friends! You're a coward!" I sobbed as I felt tears coming from my eyes.

"You better leave now Al." Seth growled and Al walked away.

The next day, Tris and Christina woke up me up to see why everyone is freaking out at the Chasm. It turns out Al has hung himself. Once Eric made a speech, Ellie got sick and ran off. Seth and I chased after her as we heard her throwing up in the bathroom.

"I can't believe they would even consider celebrating his death. It makes me sick." Ellie gagged.

"Seth? Ellie? Maci?" Tris was calling us.

"We're in here, Tris!" Seth yelled as he was rubbing Ellie's back who is still throwing up.

Tris walked in and joined Seth as he rubs Ellie's back. She finished throwing up is where I spoke up, "I'm not even upset or angry. Al was a friend. Or that's what I thought until he attacked us. I... I... I... I can't even feel any emotions for him. When they pulled him up...you saw how others reacted. That's how I should expected but I can't. I can't even feel for him. Not when I know if had the chance, he would've thrown me or Ellie over the railing. I am suddenly okay because I know he got what he deserved."

"I understand, Maci. I just feel the same way too." Seth responded.

"I understand how you feel, Maci. That's how you feel, it's fine to feel like that." Tris told me as she hugged him tightly.

Ellie joined us as this day, I've changed to a completely different person. This world is changing us for the best.... and the worst.

TIME SKIP

That night, we snuck out and meet with Molly, Steph, Tristian, Zed, and Carmen. Olivia is back at Abnegation with the Priors, sleeping as the group has their own place.

"Man, I don't blame you for feeling like that. I would feel the same way after someone would try and kill me." Carmen spoke after we explained what happened yesterday.

"I know. I don't want to do." I spoke as I lean against the wall.

"Yeah, we can't help you other than forget about it." Molly said as she took a sip of liquor she stole from the compound.

"Well, I know something that might help." Steph spoke as she grabs my phone and scroll through my playlist.

"Make sure you give us a light show." Zed added.

Oh, I forgot about my powers. I have developed the power of the spirits as our friends called. Seth, Ellie, and Olivia can do that too. But we haven't told anybody. Hell, we haven't even told Tris, Four, Christina, Al, Uriah, Zeke, Lynn, Marlene, and Ryan. Not even Jeanine Matthews didn't even know.

Steph puts on DBSK "Purple Line" one of our favorite K-Pop songs that I used my powers to put on a little light show without attracting attention. That made us feel better before we say our goodbye and head back to get ready for tomorrow.
