Kagami
Due to the fight yesterday, my mother had seized my manga and sketch books. She is also forcing me to fence twice as hard. Tatsu won't be taking me anywhere unless it's under mothers command. Thankfully, she didn't ground me, but this might as well be a sentence. Since fencing takes up most of my time, I only had the weekends to draw and read. I guess I could contact Marinette at some point.
Today is Wednesday, which means the fight between Mila and I will be the talk of the school. It's also the day we get our results back for our math exam. It's a reason to be happy and to also disregard the fight. Now like Mila, Felix will lose and I will have another victory.
I like you.
Logan's words resonated in my mind. Those eyes that remind me of a vast grassland as the sunsets, begin to appear more and more. The moment I saw his red fiery hair I wanted to entangle my fingers within it. His lips as he said it tempted me to believe him right then and there, but again I've never actually met Logan before. How can I trust what he says?
"Kagami!" My mother yells and I head out of my room. The hallways are all beige and the floors are marble. We have white helical stairs that spiral down the center of our entrance. These stairs consist of two rolled stringers, with the treads attached between them. As I walk down the steps my mother comes into view. She stood near the front doors while holding her bokken parallel to herself.
"Good morning mother." I say announcing my presence.
My mother Tomoe Tsurugi is the fiercest woman I know. Her black hair is pulled away from her face by a red barrette. Her outfit today is a long sleeved shirt with a Cheongsam collar and the Tsurugi family crest on her upper right sleeve. She has her favorite flowing deep red culottes pants on and some black high heeled boots. It looks like she decided to carry her bokken instead of her cane. The bokken is a wooden Katana that is used as a practice sword. She uses this for sparring when we are at the park together.
"You took longer than I anticipated." She scowls as she places her hand on my shoulder and we walk out to Tatsu. Tatsu is our red sedan that we take everywhere. He is electronic and is currently only able to heed mothers command, due to my not grounding.
There are some butler cars parked on the far end of our oval driveway. The fountain in the middle acts like a median for cars that come in. We head down the steps from the manor and Tatsu pulls up. The door automatically opens as my mother and I near the car. She slides in first and I follow pursuit.
"Tatsu, Dupont Prestige is our destination." My mother says, he obliges and we head for my school.
I don't understand why my mother has to always come with me. Doesn't she have other things to attend to? She became the world champion in fencing, but after her accident it's been quiet. She doesn't really talk about her glory days with me. So it always begs the question what does Tomoe Tsurugi do for a living now that she is retired?
"Mother, I understand you are upset with me about the disturbance at school, but is there any way you could see my side?" She hasn't spoken to me about it since yesterday and we were told by the substitute that Mila needed stitches for her lip.
"We are Tsurugi's Kagami. Spars happen and we always win. However we never spar over a boy with no value." Felix has no value? I mean I'm pretty sure he does, even if I don't see it. That's pretty harsh coming from my mother.
"I didn-"
"Tatsu will pick you up after fencing practice. Behave yourself." My mother cut me off before I could defend myself. I exit the car and Tatsu drives off with my mother. I turn to look at the school that contains rumors about the tiff that happened yesterday. I was doing just fine the past month and now Mila and her jealousy ruined it.
