It took longer than expected, but Alyssa and I were able to have our reign check for ice skating. It's been a while since I last came here. That was when Adrien had asked me to go out with him. Though, I wasn't aware that Marinette and Luka were apart of the date.

Adrien had asked Marinette to help him with skating, but I knew that was just a front. He was just afraid to go somewhere alone with me. He didn't seem as interested in going with me, but more interested in being there with Marinette. That should've been my first warning.

The second should have been the moment she had run into the wall. Adrien didn't hesitate to drop my hand and race to her. That was the love I wanted. Even if he didn't realize that he was already in love. I did and part of me envied her for it.

Perhaps that fairytale kind of love doesn't exist in my world. Or it wouldn't choose me as a character in its plot. My story was the darker version. A harsher version, compared to the prim and proper stories.

But within my story, I gained friends. I've become more vocal about what I want. I've been given a bit of freedom along with it. So perhaps it's starting to change. Perhaps it's finding a new outlook.

It's been five minutes since Adrien had shown up. Marinette being Marinette is usually late. So early for her is being ten minutes late. I checked my phone for the third time. Alyssa should be waiting inside for me.

"Why did you ask me to come here?" Adrien asks.

"Because we're going skating." I say bluntly.

"I-"

And to my surprise Marinette comes running down the sidewalk. She's waving and she stops just ten feet away from us. I cross my arms and smile at her.

"Marinette." The words escape from his lips in a lovable whisper.

"I'm surprised you're on time for once." I step towards her and she slumps her shoulders shyly. "I believe you two have things to talk about."

"Adrien, try to be patient with her. Her heart can only take so much of you." His brows furrowed. "That's a good thing." I give him an encouraging smile.

Marinette walks towards Adrien as he holds out a hand for her. She takes it and they head inside together. She glances back at me, her face bright red.

I stare at the building in front of me. All those months ago feel so distant. My anger and disappointment towards Adrien had disintegrated. My mind wanders towards Felix and just as it came, I block it out.

I'm not sure if what I feel is real. If I just feel lonely or if it's genuine. He has the tendency to make me feel below myself. He creates situations of discomfort. Not with him, but around others. When it's just us. It's easy.

Once more I shut out the thought and head into the building. I'm here to have fun. That boy can be on the back burner for now.

"Kagami!" Alyssa yelled from across the ice rink. She was standing on the other side.

The rink is just like any other. A vast part of it is ice and at the right of the rink are audience seats. While the left has booths and a concession store for food and drinks. It's a bit packed now that I see it.
