Kagami

The day of the party had come and while seated on my desk the events with Logan and I had surfaced. We spent a considerable amount of time together. We've chatted. We ate together. A few things I discovered were: he's a fan of soccer, he drives a blue BMW that was a birthday gift from his mother, lastly he enjoys boxing. Maybe it's not much and maybe it's not what my initial goal was, but part of me believes it's a good start. Maybe.

Then somehow he invades my mind. It wasn't that long ago, when Felix and I were stuck in that basement. But the time we were stuck we actually had a conversation. It wasn't difficult. It was uncomfortable at first, but then there was some ease to it. I'm positive that he would've wished to be elsewhere, but somehow it was durable. With Logan I couldn't help but notice that it's forced.

During this past week, I allowed myself to drift to Felix without warning. What he likes. What he does. How he is. Then I reminded myself what he said when we went our separate ways after being locked in the basement together.

When we leave here, let's go back to how we were.

I wasn't sure whether he genuinely didn't want anyone to know or if he was to forget about everything all together.

The more my mind races, the more I notice Felix's distance the past few days. Which is a difficult task to do when we have three classes together. However he's been doing it. He's been avoiding me. Every morning Felix says a maximum of twenty words to me. That has been repressed.

During math, he says the occasional insult. Again nothing. During English, we normally would discuss the book, but he said nothing. Then in PE we played dodgeball, but not once did he try to hit me. Even if my focus was on Logan, my eyes still glanced over to see him flirting with Mila.

Isn't that the perfect chance to hit your enemy? We were on separate teams!

Why is he flirting with Mila?

Why should you even care?

I don't.

There's a hole where Felix would fill. Something that he earned a spot for. It's just a void and I don't know why that annoys me so much.

He's insignificant.

Keep telling yourself that.

I roll my eyes as I get out of the seat at my desk and fall backwards onto my bed. My mind comes full circle and my eyes look over to my clock showing me I have a few hours before Logan arrives.

Oh right, the party.

The party I've been anxious about. The place I dread returning. Mila's birthday was in a couple hours. I have a little time beforehand to call Marinette. Maybe she can make me feel a little less overwhelmed at the moment.

As if she knew I was thinking about her, her name pops up on my phone. My thumb presses the answer button and I hear yelling on the other side.

"Hello?"

"Kagami! He- we- how-th-me-what!?" My whole mind took a good five minutes to process what I just heard.

"Can we speak English please?" I sigh into the phone.
