Kagami

"Mind if I sit here?" Logan places his hand on the left side of the table. The glimmer in his eyes as he half smiles, makes my insides flip. Everything about him causes something within me to flutter, flip, and surge. For a moment everyone is moving in slow motion and I take in this angel before me.

"Kagami?" Logan's eyebrows furrow and I'm brought back to the world. I didn't respond and just stared at him for a minute. How mortifying.

"Oh, that's-"

"Taken. You're in my way." His cold voice is deep and slow. As if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Felix's sleek blonde hair catches my eye as he takes a step to the top of the stairs. Both hands are in his pockets and his eyes meet Logan's with a trace of spite. Logan's smile had disappeared from his lips and those bright eyes of his have darkened.

"Did she say it was your seat?" He watches Felix as he takes the vacant spot. The detest in his eyes shows.

"I was going to say-" Felix's hand flies up stopping me from speaking.

"No, but it's mine. Now leave." The growl from his voice resonates within me, opening every vein causing my blood to rush through me. I stare down at my clammy hands and hope none of them notice. My mouth is dry as I swallow. What is happening? Wasn't he worried about him?

They bicker a little longer back and forth. Felix looks amused by this little altercation. He's trying hard to stifle either a smile or laugh. His eyes glow, enjoying the argument and the feeling my stomach gives off reminds me of when Marinette took me to the amusement park. We went onto a rollercoaster and my stomach felt out of sorts.

Their ego's start to show and it's quite unnecessary. This quarrel is filling my patience. I wanted a peaceful school year and with these two that won't be the case. I collect my thoughts and lift myself up from my seat. "Both of you are acting like imbeciles. It's very irritating." The annoyance filtering off my voice.

"That wasn't my intent. I'm sorry I'll go." Logan smiles sadly and walks down the stairs.

"No wait. I-" I am irked. My eyes glower at the boy responsible for the mild setback.

"Did you happen to read the chapters for class? I fell asleep reading the first one." The sickening voice infuriates me more. I hate him with every ounce of my being. I can feel my lungs beg for air while I focus purely on the hate I have for this boy.

"Your ego really disgusts me." All he does is smirk, while I take my seat and turn my head away.

"Disgusts you?" He leans in closer, "we will see about that." My head shifts back, but he's no longer staring at me, just his books.

The anger exudes from within me. Felix takes out his phone and taps away at it. I can feel the annoyance grow just from him sitting next to me. I sigh and stare out the window once more. Do I want to move from this seat? I like the view and I've always worked at this desk. I can still choose where to sit. Listen to me, am I really contemplating my seating arrangement for a boy? I shake my head and rid myself of those trifling thoughts. That was a close one.

"Did Logan do something to you?" I place my palm under my chin and watch Felix as he freezes for a moment. His eyes are dark, but they look sad.

"Just because we sit together, doesn't mean we need to talk to each other." He glares at me. My eyes flicker to his lips and he's pressed them together. They're holding something that he doesn't want to discuss.

"That's the whole reason for this new arrangement or did that fly over your head?" I may act calm, but the hate towards him is still there.

"Not interested in my cousin's sloppy seconds." He isn't staring at me anymore, but that comment takes the cake.
