Kagami

As he strides over to his friends, my eyes follow him. He looks over at me and all I do is glare. This boy is displeasing to the eye. His shiny blonde hair slicked back, his conceited stare, that dumb smug smirk that makes me squirm, everything about him makes me feel loathe him.

The words forming from his lips add gasoline to the already lit fire within me. Not only did this boy get first place by cheating I might add, but he has the audacity to think that I am attracted to him? His ego needs to be turned down a few notches. As if I'd ever think he's attractive. He angers me to the boiling point. He reminds me of the boy I fell in love with and who broke my heart. He reminds me of all the bad things in this world.

"Kagami! Can you show Lexi how to do that flip you did?" One of the girls from my class asks me.

"I suppose so." If I am being honest I don't want to., but anything is better than wasting my time contemplating the bad traits of Felix Graham de Vanily.

We are using the courtyard for gymnastics this time. Mr. D'Argencourt had all of us bring out the mats from the small gym into the open area. The balance beams were left in that same gym, so today we are focusing on tumbling, flipping, splits, and overall our flexibility.

Lexi and her friends are gathered in a group stretching. Lindsay, if I am not mistaken, was the one who called me over. Lexi's raven hair is long and it has a blue hue to it, her eyes are a cerulean blue and her skin is pale white. She has a few freckles on both her cheeks that enhance her face. She's very pretty, but she could find better friends than Mila and Hannah. Mostly Mila.

"Lindsay, I said I didn't need her." Lexi urges with disdain in her voice.

Lexi has never been very fond of me, nor I am of her, however I have no quarrel with her, so she doesnt need to act rude. She may feel different since she's Mila's best friend, but that reason alone has no string to pull. Mila and I have issues, but those are between us and not Lexi. She's been a loyal friend which I can respect. If only she knew what kind of person Mila is.

"Yeah, but you really wanted to get it down and Kagami achieved it already." The girl Lindsay shrugs.

"Just focus on the damn flip, I'll make sure you don't fall the wrong way. I'm not completely heartless to allow any injuries under my watch." I cross my arms. Lexi sighs as she walks over to me.

Lexi stood in front of me as she slowly reached backwards, her back arching and her whole body forming into a bridge. I placed my hands on the arch of her back and instructed her what she needed to do. In order to flip backwards there are a few steps to start out with. First the bridge, secondly would be strengthening the arms, thirdly balance and lastly the kick.

In order for Lexi to flip successfully, she has to maneuver her weight over her head and sometimes when learning the weight is held for a moment or two. Her arms start to shake as she tries to push her foot forward. She loses her grip and slides back onto the mat. Once more she bends backwards and starts to push her foot up again. Her hesitation is what keeps her from being able to accomplish the flip.

"Lexi stop hesitating, just kick with all the force you can. Don't forget, I'll be here just in case you lose your balance." I reassure her. She glares at me but obliges.

"Okay." She kicks and flips, but her legs start to flail. I grab the one closest to me and push it towards the center making her land on her knees. There is a small curl of a smile as she realizes what she did.

"That was good, next time try not to kick me okay?" Her smile disappears as soon as I encourage her with a little of my humor. I've never been the funny type so I understand.
