Kagami

My eyes glance back to meet the object that has Marinette's focus. Adrien is exiting out of a car just across the way. He speaks with his bodyguard and then makes his way towards us.

He's wearing some jeans and a black t-shirt. I can hear Marinette hyperventilating.

"Hi Marinette! Oh, good morning Kagami!" Adrien is walking towards us and I know once I turn my head back to Marinette she will be in utter disarray.

"Good morning Adrien." I replied.

"H-Hi morning good Adrien. I-I mean good morning Adrien." She clenches her seat.

"You look really nice today Marinette. I've never seen your hair up like that." He smiles. She is dead.

"U-Uh oh um thank you." I feel awkward, but I don't feel upset about their conversation. I rather enjoy seeing Marinette squirm, that oblivious boy can't figure it out.

"Oh hey Ka-"

"Felix? Felix Graham de Vanily?" The voice is modulated.

Adrien turns back to see the same girl we see. Her hair is brown with hints of red and it goes to her lower back. Her eyes are blue and her skin is a darker color than my own. Her dimples show on both sides of her cheeks as she talks. She's wearing a short yellow dress with black wedges and a yarn purse. Why does she look so familiar?

Adrien turns to face her completely and I turn back to stare at Marinette. My hand grabs my empty cup as I try to remember where I've seen her from. Marinette places her hand on me and gives me a worried stare. I reassure her I'm fine by placing my hand on top.

"I don't know if you remember me..." Her voice sounds shaky.

Marinette looks over towards the girl who is currently mistaking Adrien for that vile boy named Vanily. I can hear Adrien shift to his other foot. Is he going to tell her that he's not him? But then I can't hear why she's even here. Then again it's none of my business.

"I'm not Felix. I'm his cousin, but I'd be happy to send him the message." Adrien places his hands up like a defeated enemy.

"Oh I'm sorry. I mistook you for him. You both look quite alike." She places both hands close to her mouth in shock of her mistake.

"I get that a lot." Adrien laughs nervously. I can tell he sounds uncomfortable.

Another poor girl wrapped around Felix's finger. She is beautiful, but helpless now. How many more of them does he need? I thought Mila was all he wanted, but that was quite the false advertisement. The girl starts to leave, but Adrien stops her before she goes.

"Did you want me to let him know you were asking for him? Um..?" He steps forward hoping she would halt.

"Alyssa. It's Alyssa." She smiles and all those memories come rushing back.

Alyssa and Adrien say their goodbyes and she takes a seat at one of the tables nearby. She looks over at me and quickly looks away. I know her.

"Alyssa.." The recollection of that name leaves that dry taste in my mouth.

***Flashback***

"You should tell him. You can't always let Mila win." She grabs a hold of my arm as we continue to walk.

"I'm content with Alyssa. I don't always need confirmation from a guy." My mother was clear that I had to make time to hang out with Alyssa. In doing so Alyssa took the opportunity to ask me if I could go to the ice rink with her, so we are currently on our way there.
