Austin's P.O.V.

Something inside me told me that this crush of Alex was bad news.

"Vanessa's going to kill you alive" I whispered still in shock

"What? What are you talking about Austin" Alex said

"That's Kimberly, Vanessa's cousin. Kimberly is the most protected person in her family. They would kill anyone who crossed the line with her. Alex she's private territory, you need to stay away from her" I told Alex

"I finally find a girl that has my attention, and you want to stay way from her?" Alex said upset

"You don't understand Alex, there's no way they would let you date her" I tried to explain

"Why? Why is it such a big deal?" Alex voice started to get higher

"She's the families princess, they would never let her date" I said calmly

"Just like Vanessa" Alex said crossing his arms

"No... Well yes, kinda, bottom line is that it would be hopeless" I said

"Look where we are standing Austin. A surprise party for Vanessa that will make the front cover of every gossip magazine. You have by your side a princess that your will to do anything for, a princess that you have fought for. So why won't you let me fight for mine?" Alex argued

"Alex... You haven't even talked to her" I said

"That's where your wrong Austin. I know she was put in my path for a reason. She's a dog lover. Singing, basketball and Soccer are her hobbies. Family is the most important thing to her. She's the sweetest person I have ever meet" Alex says smiling

"You already talked to her!" I yelled

"We bumped into each other and talked for a while" Alex said

"Alex just stay away" I told him

"When Vanessa's parents didn't want you near her, did you stay away? Cause if that's the case I will then" Alex said

"I'm trying to keep you out of trouble" I argued

"When you wanted to be with Vanessa, I was there to help you. She was the princess of the family too and she still is. Her parents have an eye on you. But you still keep fighting to have her by your side. So if you're fighting for your princess, why can't I?" Alex said calmly

I get out a breath. He was right, I couldn't say no to him. I was in his same shoes with Vanessa.

"Okay I'll see what I can do. I won't say anything but that doesn't mean I think it's right. But I'm your friend and I will stand by your side" I told him

"Yes!" Alex said hugging me

"Let me talk to Vanessa first" I said

"Okay, got it!" Alex said smiling

"Austin it's time for the cake!" My mom yelled

"Come on Alex it's time to find Vanessa" I told Alex

We found Vanessa still on the dance floor. She was with Selena busting a move. I smiled at how much fun she was having. I started making my way towards her.

"Wooh!" I said moving my hand in the air

"Go Austin! Go Austin!" I hear the girls yell

"Actually it's time for the cake" I said laughing

After I said that the happy birthday song started playing. We started to sing along and my mom brought in Vanessa's cake.

"Blow out your candles and make a wish" her mom said after we finished singing

I saw Vanessa look all around. When she looked at me she gave my hand a little squeeze.

"Before blowing out the candles, I want to thank everyone for coming. I can't honestly believe how blessed I am to have all of you here. I couldn't ask for anything more. I also want to give a big thanks to this handsome gentleman next to me" She said hugging me

She took a big breathe and blow out all the candles. Everyone yelled and clapped.

"Happy birthday princess" I said hugging her

The rest of the party we stayed together. We hung out with family for a while. Then we end the night with our friends. We were sitting outside by the pool. Vanessa was sitting on my lap and Becky across from us. Becky was the last guest now, everyone one had left.

"Well it's already 2:45a.m. I should probably get going" Becky said standing up.

Vanessa stood up and I stood up after her.

"Thank you for everything Becky" I said hugging her

"No problem" she said

"Thanks girly. I had so much fun with you" Vanessa said hugging her

"Anything for the birthday girl. Happy birthday Chicka. See you guys soon" Becky said and then walked out.

I hugged Vanessa from the back just wanting to enjoy the night. I noticed that Vanessa's dress didn't have the back of her dress. She had on a short tight dress now.

"Hey Vanessa?" I said

"Yeah" she whispered

"Did something happen to your dress?" I asked

"Oh! I took off the back of it while dancing. It was hard to move with it. Although I got a lot of whistles when I did" she said

"What!" I yelled

"I'm kidding baby" she said laughing

"Feew! I mean that dress doesn't make you look.. Humm..." I said smirking

"Well that hair makes you look really... Humm.." She said snaking her arms around my neck

She slowly started to lean in. I felt her lips touch mine. Our lips moved together like they were meant to be. Soon our kiss was deepened. I licked her bottoms lips asking for entrance and she gave it to me. My hands were on her lower back. The deeper the kiss got the warmer it felt outside. I slowly picked Vanessa up bride style. I get her smile through the kiss. I walked her up the stairs and made my way into my room. I gently set her on the bed. My lips started moving down her neck. I felt the room starting to heat up.

"Austin" I heard Vanessa whisper

"Yeah" I said in between kisses

"I want you more then anything right now, but I'm not ready yet" she said

I minute I heard those words I stopped. I had to control myself. I took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get carried away " I apologized

"No, no! This was my fault, I started it" she said

"Let's just go to bed" I said quietly

I went into the bathroom to get changed. I looked at myself in the mirror. I wanted her more than anything right now, but I needed to respect her. I walk out and Vanessa was already sleeping. She must be really tired for the party. I got in bed next to her.

"Goodnight baby" I said kissing her forehead
