Battle of the Heart between Love and Family

Neha's POV 

"Wow! Such a small world. It's ok I will stay here. I have to face the reality, can't escape. Your family would have many guests and would be busy with engagement preparations. Siri's engagement is today right" mom asked 

"Engagement is canceled" Megha said 

"I'm sorry. Why? What happened?" Mom asked with concern 

How to tell mom? I'm scared of her reaction. She wouldn't trust Arjun if she knows what happened. Already she doesn't trust Arjun's parents. I looked at Arjun, he too looked scared.

"It's arranged marriage, groom accepted out of obligation. He loves some other girl" Megha said 

"Oh! These boys doesn't have spine. Siri is lucky to escape from such a person. I'm sure someone special is there waiting for her" mom said 

"He is nice guy but I'm happy things are good now. No one is sad" Megha said 

I thanked Megha in my heart

"I will stay here, would  visit family  in the evening, want to meet Siri. She must be wonderful. Neha agreed to marry Rohan just to attend her marriage" mom said 

"Thank you Anna, Arjun show attha guest room" aunt said 

"I will try to forget past for the sake of kids but please understand it's not easy" mom said to aunt 

"I totally understand, thank you for staying. Freshen up and come, we will have breakfast" aunt said 

Mom nodded and left with Arjun

"Don't know how mom reacts if she knows about Siri and Arjun" I expressed my worry

"We will her but now is not the right time" aunt said 

Mom came after sometime and we started to eat breakfast.

"Does your dad about you and Arjun. I'm surprised he is not here" mom said 

"All I have is you mom, dad doesn't exist for me" I said bitterly 

"I'm happy that you understood my love. You love your dad Neha, don't distance yourself for me. I'm ok with having your dad around you" mom said 

"I'm not ok mom, please don't ever talk about him" 

Mom looked at aunt

"I can't forgive my brother, actually I'm ashamed to that he is my brother. I can't forgive myself either, can't change past but I promise I will make up for the past" aunt said emotionally 

Mom looked at aunt in surprise

"We have to get these two idiots get married soon, fix date, make arrangements. If we keep discussing about these unnecessary things their kids also witness their marriage " karthik said changing the topic

I looked at Arjun, he winked. My cheeks heated up

"I already spoke to priest, there is auspicious date for engagement in 2 days and marriage in a week. Anna if you are ok, we will proceed" aunt said 

Mom said, "ok, there is little time. Can we make all the arrangements"

"We will have simple marriage, just our families in our farmhouse. Neha is weak, can't strain her. I know she and Arjun prefer simple wedding" aunt said 

"Ok, let's go for shopping, I have no idea about boutiques here" mom said 

"Mom knows well attha, it would be nice if both of you select for us" Arjun said 

"If you are uncomfortable, Megha....." aunt started

"It's ok, we both can go and Megha can join us " mom said 

I'm happy mom is trying to get along with aunt
