Chapter 36

Ravi's POV

As I was climbing downstairs , I heard Arjun telling everyone the reason why he agreed to marry Siri . It is because Megha and me can't have kids . He feels himself responsible for our misfortune .Arjun and Sweety sacrificed their life for us . Sweety wanted to give her child to me knowing I cant have kids . I couldn't hold back my tears .

Megha started to cry hearing Arjun's sacrifice . Everyone except Megha's mom were shocked to know that we can't have kids . My mom hugged Megha .

" Why didn't you tell us Megha . Why did you suffer alone . I didn't know this is the reason you quit practicing medicine . I feel you as my own daughter . Did you feel that I would complain that you can't have kids ? I didn't know you don't feel me as your mother ? " mom said crying

" I'm sorry mom. It s not like that . I don't want you all feel bad for me as I'm childless . Arjun will feel guilty if he knows . He sacrificed his life for me after knowing the truth . I didn't want something like that happen . That's why we didn't tell ? " Megha said

" Who said you are childless Megha . You brought so many kids into this world as a doctor . You gave life to Arjun " mom said emotionally

" You did injustice to Neha and yourself . Three of you would have suffered because of your decision . Do you think we will be happy if you are not happy ? Nobody would have been happy " Megha scolded Arjun

" I'm sorry " Arjun said

I came downstairs and said " Tomorrow we will take Sweety home . She is sleeping now . Too much happened today . She needs rest . Then we will think of a way to fix everything and also take approval from uncle and aunt ( Sweety's parents ) . I don't think Anna aunty ( Sweety's mom ) would agree . Whether she agrees or not we have to get Sweety married to Arjun . Otherwise she will go away " I said . Everyone nodded

"She is sleeping . Mom lets go home " I said . We said bye to Latha aunty and Siri . Arjun stood there looking towards Neha's room . I can understand how much he longing to stay with Sweety . It would be hard for him to leave her especially when she is pregnant and is sick .

" Arjun , she is sleeping . Go , see her and come . We will wait " I said . He looked at everyone . When no one objected , he said thanks and went to her room .

He came back after sometime . " Arjun , she will be in our home by tomorrow and we will get you married officially as soon as possible " I put hand on his shoulder consoling . We went home . The drive was dead silent .

Everyone went to their rooms . I laid on bed but sleep seem to elude me . Megha slept after rolling several times on sides . I went to terrace for some fresh air and clear my mind . Arjun was already there sitting in chair looking at the moon . Why am I not surprised ?

"Not sleepy?" I asked 

"Hmm... I messed up everything" he said sadly 

"Don't worry, now that everyone knows, we will fix it. But first let me get the whole story"
