KRIST PERAWAT
The Next Morning_
“P’Sing, here’s your coffee.” I placed it on the table and explained the day’s plans to him.
“We’ll pay a visit to Mr. Somrak & his wife at 11 o’clock. In the afternoon, we’ll go to the construction site. Please take a look. Everything can be rescheduled.” I handed him the notebook tablet.
“Hmm. Alright.” He took a glance at it and said.
“Where is Jane? Ask her to come to me. She didn’t even answer mom’s call. Mom is concerned about her.”
“Ooh! She’s taken a day off. She told me that she’s sick.” I informed him.
“What?!!” His eyes widened in shock. “How come you didn’t tell me sooner? How could I be so irresponsible? If my mom finds out, she’ll skin me. That punk doesn’t even bother to call me.” He grumbled to himself as he frantically searched his pocket for his phone.
His abrupt shift in demeanor caught me off guard. I've never seen him look that concerned about her before. He picked up the phone and dialed her number.
"How are things going with you? How did you end up? I'm sure you've had another late-night party." He reprimanded her and took a moment to listen to her.
“Hang… Hangover?" His eyes widened in surprise. "I had a feeling. Did you take the medicine?"
“Alright. I'll have Aunt Linji come to you. She'll prepare something for you to eat." Before hanging up, he said.
He went through his contacts and dialed Aunt Linji's phone number. He got on the phone once again.
"Hello, Aunt Linji. Please hurry over to N'Jane's house and cook something for her. She's in a bad way."
“Okay. Thank you.” he said before hanging up.
His brows wrinkled as he scratched his forehead anxiously.
I sighed as I approached him and took the place behind his chair. I put my fingertips on his temples to give him a head massage. He grinned up at me as he leaned back in his chair.
He closed his eyes as I kissed his forehead. “Don’t worry, she’ll be alright.” I smiled warmly at him. “Close your eyes. I’ll give you a head massage.” I said in a soft tone, grinning.
“Thank you my love.” He smiled as he closed his eyes and I proceeded to give him a nice head massage.
“P’Sing, you care so much about her. Why doesn’t she live with you?” I inquired, intrigued.
He made a sneering remark. “That brat wanted her own space. She dislikes it when I constantly interrupt her in everything. As a result, I got her an apartment close to my place.” He told me and I made my mouth ‘O’, shaking my head.
“P’Sing, can I ask you something?”
“Sure. Go ahead.”
“Did you mention about her mother or your mother earlier?” I inquired, perplexedly.
“My mother. She lost her mother at the age of 10. My Aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer.” He told me with his eyes closed.
“Oh! I’m sorry. I had no idea.” I feel very bad for her.
“It’s alright.” He added with a slight grin while caressing my hand.
“What about her father?” I inquired again curiously.
