“There goes Cobi.”

“Brr… I have frostbites.”

“She goes by Elsa too, these days.”

“New name?”

“Yeah. Upgrade ‘cause everything she touches turns to ice.”

“Everyone, you mean?”

“Everything, everyone, every heart. In fact, we have just lost another one.”

“Oh no! Who’s the poor soul this time?”

“Some nerd from the debate club, I heard.”

“What? I thought nerds were supposed to be smart? He didn’t know about Cobi-… I mean Elsa’s ruthlessness?”

“Apparently not. You can find his ice sculpture self in the library. He’s been hiding there to fix his frozen and shattered heart.”

“Someone should talk to him. Tell him that he should learn to let it go~ let it go~”

The young men laugh loudly and obnoxiously, high-fiving each other.

Tiffany hears everything but keeps her face expressionless. She’s used to the teasing and the nicknames. The pain and embarrassment that she used to feel no longer sting her heart that much.

She calmly sits down at a table, right next to her best friend Sunny who’s shooting daggers from her eyes at the rowdy boys.

“You’re just gonna let that slide?” asks Sunny, raising her eyebrows.

Tiffany shrugs and begins eating her lunch. “You don’t have to wait for me. I’m going to finish working on my assignment at the library.”

“Okay. But are you seriously going to let that slide?” Sunny gestures with her thumb at the other table.

“There’s no point reacting to him. Besides, I don’t want to stoop to his idiotic level.”

“They’re calling you Elsa now.”

“Let them.”

Sunny sighs, puts her spoon down and wipes her mouth. “Don’t hate me for saying this but why can’t you just like someone? Someone you can date. Gotta stop the rumors, Fany. It’s been too long.”
