(Chapter 4)

Taeyeon waits until the hallway is quiet again – no more noises of boxes or things dragging on the tile, no laughs, no giggles, no Tiffany's voice. Her phone had beeped a few times and she knew who it was so she didn't even bother to check. There was also a knock on her door but she didn't answer it.

She finally gets up from the floor after waiting another minute to make sure Tiffany's really gone.

She opens her door, takes a deep breath, closes it and goes across the hall – punching in the numbers she knows by heart.

The door opens to a dark and empty apartment.

She gulps. It feels cold and abandoned. Dead. Just like her heart.

She absentmindedly pushes the door to a gentle close behind her.

She presses the small white button on the wall and dim lights illuminate the apartment. She goes to the living room and sits on the couch – staring blankly at the barren wall in front of her where the TV was.

She can't cry anymore. It's all over and this time there will be no deals, no pretense, no futile attempt to save whatever's left of her heart. She scoffs. There's nothing left to save anyway. It's all gone.

Tiffany has taken Taeyeon's heart with her and Taeyeon knows it. She lets it. She's not sure she wants to give it to someone else anyway. For Taeyeon, no one could be as perfect as Tiffany.

She closes her eyes. She can still see them happily talking, laughing in each other's arms right there on that couch.

The memories suffocate her.

She pushes herself up and decides to leave before she goes crazy.

Her eyes catch sight of the bedroom door and she makes a turn.

Taeyeon pushes the door open with her fingers and she can see Tiffany sitting on the bed with her laptop – smiling at her while greeting her happily. She can feel the soft skin brushing against her arm and the long dark hair tickling her face – just like during those moments when Tiffany fell asleep in her arms right there on that bed.

She takes a step back. No. Get a grip. It's over. It's been over for years. She's not yours. She'll never be yours.

She unconsciously balls up both fists – digging her nails into her palms. "I gotta get out of here," she mumbles to herself.

Taeyeon turns on her heels and literally runs to the door.

She grabs the door handle and gasps out loud when she looks up to see the familiar pink post-it stuck on the door.

There's nothing much written on it except for a heart, her name in the middle of it and the word 'forever'.

She peels it off and stares at it. She smiles. "You're such a cute kid sometimes..."

She was sure she wouldn't be able to cry again so she's surprised when her eyes start to blur and drops of tears begin to fall – hitting the small pink paper.

She sighs, crunches the note into a small ball and drops it to the ground before she turns the lights off and leaves the empty apartment.

"Is it finally finished?" She steps out of the bedroom with her hair still wrapped in a towel.

"Almost. A few more episodes to go, I think." He sighs sadly. "I don't know why you don't like this drama. It's quite funny although the story is a bit cliché. Ha Jiwon is hot!"
