Tiffany furrows her eyebrows while she stirs her drink with the straw, listening to the words her friends are saying.

It’s their solo-night-out-slash-reunion but what’s supposed to be a fun night with alcohol, dancing and funny stories soon turns into an impromptu venting out session with almost everyone at the table sharing their relationship woes.

She wants to leave but can’t do so without offending her friends so she quietly sits there and listens, secretly giving thanks for her own relationship.

It’s not perfect, what she has, but the good far outweighs the bad and she never feels the need to vent out to anyone like this despite the occasional advice-seeking questions she would ask her best friend Sunny.

She nods as if agreeing with the others while secretly taking hold of her phone to text the person she suddenly misses.

“Get me out of here,” she types.

“Why? What’s wrong?” the reply comes faster than expected.

“They’re whining and complaining about their relationships. Help!”

“Aw… maybe they just need someone to listen to them.”

“I know that but I prefer something positive and fun tonight. This is totally not the reunion I imagined,” she replies.

“Isn’t that right, Fany?”

She looks up at the mention of her name and finds everyone at the table staring at her, waiting for her reaction.

“Hm?” she asks, “Sorry. I was replying to Taeyeon’s message.”

“Is she nagging you to come home?”

“Err… no, actually. I texted her first to tell her that I’m gonna come home later than expected,” she lies.

“What did she say?”

“She said okay and that’s it.”

One of her friends snorts. “You have it good. Taeyeon’s so nice. You’re so lucky.”

“We have our share of fights and I still feel like I don’t understand her, most of the time, but I can’t complain,” she replies with a polite smile, trying to not sound like she’s bragging or rubbing it in. “What were you talking about anyway?” she adds in an attempt to shift the attention away from herself.
