.The reunion.

The girl left the store while cutting the call with the client with whom she had fought. It was cold but nothing could compare to the coldness in the CEO's heart. Her modern heels clanked together on the snow-paved road as she made her way to a runaway cafe to order a latte. Hitting her nails in a lost rhythm at the counter she waited.
A beep of the phone which was once filled with happy roses and family photos as wallpapers now containing black wallpaper saying "nothing permanent" Reflecting the pain she once felt which had only made her the way she was now, caught her attention. she took it unbothered, sighing when she found out it was from her work. Replying to the quick message she kept her phone down, her temper going higher. She stopped waiting for the latte and stormed out of the cafe with a scared employee behind.
She got another message, and this time it did something to her frozen heart.

I am in town, where are you? Get your not-so-busy ass here, it's freezing 🥶

She hurriedly called the messenger and with an excited tone talked with her as if the coldness in her heart never existed, "you know what? Stay there I am coming. Ughh I am so excited. " She squealed at the end and started running to where the other girl was waiting for her.

All the coldness in her melted for that special person in her life who was waiting just for her. The thought excited her, and without caring if she was breaking any rules, she ran.
Standing in front of the crossway, her eyes met hers for the first time in the last 6 months.

The remainings of her innocence resurfaced, as the cold CEO ran through the crossway risking her life in front of the fast-driving cars with tears full of painful flashbacks with the memories flowing down her cheeks.

She held her by the waist and lifted her up not caring about anyone but the girl In her arms who giggle-squealed and cried in return in her safe haven. She put her down and looked at her for a moment to take her form fixed in her eyes as more fat tears of loneliness and anguish flowed. She hugged her this time, face buried in her neck as both of them enjoyed each other's presence in each other's arms with tears of satisfaction flowing through the extremely little space left between them.

"You know, that stunt you pulled while coming here was actually dangerous," She said.

" I know, but anything for you " The CEO, now nothing but a childish girl replied with a cheesy smile, a smile adorning both of their tear-stained faces.

It was as if the pain they both went through never existed, those nights filled with tears never happened, that numbness that almost killed them was never present, and as if they suddenly had everything they both needed even though they lacked so many.

No.

They weren't girlfriends, they were best friends for life.
