Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were created by a man named Harry Burnett Reese in 1928. H. B. Reese originally worked at a Hershey dairy farm for several years before moving on to the company's chocolate factory, where he became inspired by Milton S. Hershey to make his own chocolates. Reese left his job at Hershey and began creating chocolate and peanut butter confections he simply called "penny cups" as they cost just one penny each at the time. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups now generates more than $2 billion in annual sales and are the No. 1 selling candy brand in the United States.
