A "sports equinox" occurs when the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL all hold games on the same day. These special days typically occur in October or November, which is when the NBA and NHL seasons begin, the NFL is in mid-season, and the MLB postseason is coming to a close. There is a very small window where a sports equinox can occur. As such, 26 of the 29 sports equinoxes in history have occurred between October 12 and November 4 in its given year. This years equinox occurred on November 3, and included Game 5 of the World Series, Thursday Night Football, two NBA matchups and 13 NHL games.
